My father is from Gojjam, Achefer. This song touches my heart deeply as it brings back memories of my smart, hardworking, and ambitious rural father. His story is one of resilience and brilliance, despite never having had the chance to attend modern education. In his childhood, he and his mother moved to Gonder, Alefa Takusa, a district bordering Gojjam and Gonder. Starting from nothing, he worked tirelessly, including 17 consecutive years for others, to support his family. His natural intelligence and determination amazed everyone who knew him. Over time, his hard work paid off. He built a life from scratch-owning vast lands for farming through sheer effort, serving for almost 20 years as a Kebele Lekemeber (local leader), mediating social and community conflicts as a respected Shimagle, and raising one of the largest families in the area. Despite the odds, he ensured his children had access to education and opportunities. I am one of those children, pursuing my master's degree at 25, a milestone made possible by his sacrifices. My father is not just a provider but an icon and a leader-a lion of his community. Listening to this song while studying abroad in Europe fills me with love, gratitude, and an unwavering commitment to make him proud. I pray to God to help me continue his legacy, protect my family, honor my dear mother, and fulfill the dreams he has for me. Dad, I love you endlessly, and I promise to work hard to be the person you want me to be. May God bless you with a long life and the strength to witness my journey of making your dreams come true. Thank you for everything. ❤
