Great filming and documentation!Ruby..Been through it many times on the east coast. this is why almost 6000 homes are for sale now in Cape…Before the storm people were out bidding each other purchasing site unseen. I feel sometimes Mother Nature is angry with Florida lately with all the land clearing and development happening Unfortunately it will happen again somewhere at some point😢

May I ask how you like the boat? Can you trailer it?
@Adventure-Mom5 күн бұрын
Hello karon, Yes I am happy with my purchase. I use it mostly in Tampa bay and the surrounding gulf coast area. You will need to learn how to use the engine tilt and trim tabs in rougher waters so that you do not get beat up by the waves. The bow thruster in a life saver when docking and really easy to use. As I mentioned before my only negative is that the cabin gets hot because there is no way to allow air to come in through the windshield. The bathroom is small with a small shower space but it gets the job done. I think the bedroom is a good size for me and that the AC keeps the cabin cool while docked with the curtains drawn. As for the kitchen, I have not really used the electric stove as I bring a small microwave with me (stored under the sink) and the refrigerator could be bigger but holds enough for a weekend getaway. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel.

Hello Karon, I am reluctant to disclose how much I paid on the internet however I will tell you that boat dealership usually have about a 25-30% flex from MSRP and that I did get about 30% off MSRP. Considering all of my options and the great service at my dealership I think I did well. Thank you for supporting my channel.

Nice video and love the boat. Going to look at them. Any options recommend? Any things you don’t like?
@Adventure-Mom6 күн бұрын
Hello Karon, My options were based on how I plan to use the boat which is as a weekender. This means using it as a camper so I needed the refrigerator, stove top, and AC for interior comfort. I also find the bow thruster and windlass anchor extremely helpful. I also opted for the higher HP engine (250hp) which seems to top the boat out at about 42 mph. My only disappointment with the boat is the cabin can become very hot as the side windows do not allow enough airflow on hot days so I am planning to tint all the windows and mount a fan. I did not opt for the lithium package and instead carry a gas generator that I can mount on the rear platform when camping off-grid. Hope this helps and thank you for supporting my channel.

I will never understand why they do not upgrade the infrastructure to withstand these storms? Hydro pools should be made of concrete, not wood structures like car parks, and boat houses should be made of much more resilient materials, that are both lightweight but strong. Just a few small changes could make a big difference, I suppose it’s the price for living in Paradise, I say that because I live in Toronto, where nothing remotely dangerous weatherwise ever happens, except being cold six months of the year, that’s why I call it. Paradise, I hate the cold! I do have a friend living in the Florida Keys, who built a home out of solid concrete. He has been hit by a category five hurricane three times already, never losing one thing because he has engineered his home properly, I don’t understand why other people don’t do the same.

I was wondering what your reasons were for going with the Defender vs. some other "off-road" SUV instead. I'm sure you researched them all (including American brands such as Broncos & Jeeps), so what was the "deal-maker" re: the Defender? I'd guess not price, as all these vehicles (off-road SUVs & trucks) are expensive nowadays. As for steps, although they would make it easier to get into my "off-road" truck (mine just has rock-rails), it'd compromise ground clearance (and likely be trail-damaged) so I do without them. -- BR
@Adventure-Mom11 күн бұрын
Bill happy to hear from you again! You know me well as I did a lot of research and test drove many off-road SUV's. Amongst the SUV I tested were the Jeep Wrangler 392, Branco Raptor, Mercedes G63, the V8 powered defender, and even a couple more less "off-road" capable. In the end the Jeep Wrangler V8 had too much play in the steering for normal road use so that was removed immediately and the Mercedes G wagon was just too expensive for what you got (even on the used market). I really liked the Bronco Raptor but it is so big/wide and there are so many sitting on the Ford lots that I felt I would regret the purchase later. Even though, I did make an offer on the Raptor but the dealership was not as flexible as I wanted and I do not have a great impression about Ford long term quality/reliability. The Defender was something I just happened upon and figured I would try .... I was really impressed. The interior quality and everyday drivability is on par with Mercedes. The power of the P400 was impressive and the of-road capability is great. All of this and it is an SUV that is quiet and smooth on the highway and can tow over 8000lbs. I did test drive the V8 version and again put an offer on one but in the end found that the power difference did not seem to justify the hefty price increase. I know this was a long summary but I do hope it helps explain my purchase process. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel. BTW, I got the P400 X-Dynamic for less than all of the other SUV's I tested and Land Rover Tampa was super helpful and flexible. This really told me I was making the right decision.
@billredding200011 күн бұрын
@@Adventure-Mom Thanks for your informative reply! BTW, I had forgotten to add "Toyota 4-Runner" to my mention of possible choices you may have looked at earlier, and you didn't name that particular SUV so I guess you didn't include the 4-Runner in your research? Whatever, yes, all those brands/models you named are big-money (!) and you have to decide what the best cost/value ratio is vs. just buying something expensive but not really suiting your actual needs -- even though it's certainly true that ALL these SUVs & trucks are really inflated price-wise nowadays (and then Stealership ADMs on top)! For example, while I have no issues re: the "normal" Jeep Wranglers/Ford Broncos (all trim levels) -- they're both Top Dog off-road & highway/city vehicles -- and yet are still suitable for Daily Drivers (my Jeep is, even if its City-MPG numbers are low). However, re: the WAY more expensive Jeep Wrangler 392 and Ford Bronco Raptor in particular are (IMO) what I call Vanity Vehicles ("Hey, look at me!"), as all that power/torque doesn't do anything (for me) off-road or even on-road. You don't NEED a lot of HP & torque off-road: How much did WWII Jeeps have? Not much, and they did fine/went anywhere (almost!) anyway. And how much HP/torque do you really need ON road? Not THAT much either. So to me those "Eye Candy" SUVs are just very expensive gas-guzzlers and can't tow much -- only 3500lbs, not even close to what I needed (almost useless). No PRACTICAL real-life use (and I'm more of a practical guy, and not into vanity much, either). But back then (April 2021) when I was looking for my MID-size "Top Dog/off-road-focused/serious 4x4" off-road vehicle, those "Super SUVs" weren't even out yet , even the "standard" Ford Broncos weren't out yet: They were just vaporware/Ford advertising hype for ~2 years! So while others pre-ordering those vehicles awaited delivery (many of them NOT so patiently) of their Bronco, or waiting for the Jeep 392 to come out later, I already HAD my Jeep...and at a decent price and before the price-increasing/price-gouging insanity happened. ;-) However, I have to say that my FIRST choice (back then) was a 2021 Chevy Colorado ZR2 (and in Sand Dune Metallic color, of course!) mainly due to it's better handling on the hwy. I even put $1K down on it (@ John Elway Chevrolet in Englewood CO) but going on 3 months of waiting, GM still couldn't say when it would arrive (needed its computer chips) so it was parked "unfinished" at GM's Assembly Plant in Wentzville MO with 20K other "unfinished" Chevy trucks. So with "No ETA Available" from GM I bailed on the ZR2 (yes, they gave me back my $1K w/o issue!) and got a Jeep Gladiator (Rubicon). Remember, I wanted "Top Dog" so other (even 4x4) "normal" mid-size trucks like the Ranger, Canyon, Colorado, Frontier, etc. wouldn't do. Got one of the 2 Gladiator Rubicons I had been tracking (as a Plan B) all along off a Jeep dealer's lot (in a nearby city) within 2 days, so I was ready to jump on it after the failed ZR2 attempt. No waiting: Jeep dealerships in CO had PLENTY of Wranglers & Gladiators on their lots, whereas Chevy dealerships there were almost bare of ANY trucks, let alone Colorado ZR2s. And they had NONE in Sand Dune Metallic! Absolutely outrageous! ;-) So the Gladiator worked out to be the best choice really -- even if it was by-default (and even though costing ~$11K more). And the Rubicon's 7000lbs towing capacity (I needed a minimum of 5000lbs) allows me to tow the largest (and overloaded!) U-Haul 6x12 cargo trailer, or a small travel-trailer (like a 16' Airstream Basecamp-X), which is good, too. And Jeeps being narrower (for a reason!) are better for tight trails (less "pin-striping" damage). You mentioned some off-road vehicles being too wide -- they are! And some are too big & heavy besides being too wide, like some full-size (but also seriously-off-road-capable) trucks: Ford Raptor, Power Wagon and TRX. Your Land Rover Defender's 8000lbs towing capacity is very decent (beats me by 1000lbs): If your Class B ever breaks down, you can tow it home with your Defender! No need to call an expensive RV tow-truck. Very "progressive" (?) thinking of you there -- my compliments. ;-) Enjoy your Land Rover Discovery Defender 90 X-Dynamic (out of breath saying that though)! ;-) -- BR
