They do make the scream accurate costume it’s a 25th anniversary one but they are really expensive and only out for a little bit then retired

Even that one wasn't wholly screen accurate, it just came the closest. It also had one of the masks that didn't have a whole cowl and just a band in the back that you covered with the costume's hood.

I use a black morph suit mask to cover my eyes works well
@Rekuzan2 ай бұрын
I'll be the first to admit I 'talk' during a movie, but limit myself to one or two words at most, and only rarely when it's appropriate. Like in Deadpool & Wolverine were he finally puts the mask on, I said "Finally!!!" And that was it.

Probably the second best one other from the gen 1 but still good
@PyroCommondll2 ай бұрын
The mask would work with a Scream 5 cosplay more you just need to reshroud it. To fix the eye problem you can replace the mesh with a thicker one or get a full black mask that you can only see out of.

Hows the mask holding up? Ive heard that alot of these masks develop blue spots due to the dyes in the fabric touching the vinyl
@LeninhawkD2 ай бұрын
Holding up really well. Still has a strong vanilla scent and no blue spots to speak of. I have mostly kept it on display in my closet in my temp controlled apartment, though, so it's possible if I wore it out more and exposed it to the elements it might be a different story.

Evil Cooper obviously went back to get Windom Earle’s computer, and it would be on his character to kill Leo just for being there. Also, it makes more sense for the bug to be Laura.

I tried this for the first time today and I almost puked 😭 it tasted like how a bad farmhouse smells. I immediately threw it away and it also was super spicy, I didn't even know it had chili powder on it so it's probably why the spiciness was so much more that I thought 😭

Loved the extensive coverage and deep dive. I’ve only seen Jordan Ladd in waiting and maybe 1-2 other films. Would you consider doing a similar video for Ethan hawke?
@LeninhawkD5 ай бұрын
OMG, he's been in so many films that watching or re-watching them all would take forever! I'd have to maybe limit it to films he's the main star of to make it manageable, but I wouldn't count it out. Maybe next year, lol.

Calling things woke as a critique is shallow. It tells us nothing about the movie from a directors perspective like cinematography, lighting, cgi, costume design, ect. The other problem is that it isn't an actual theoretical lens for interpreting a movie like feminist, marxist, post-colonial, queer, psychoanalytical, ect so we don't get to see the deeper meaning beneath the film itself. All it does is tell the viewer that the reviewer is wearing their discrimination on their sleeve, and typically it's just spouting the same sentiment into an echo chamber.

Thank you for providing this thoughtful review of Exotica and for making it spoiler-free. While I have watched the movie and wouldn’t have been troubled by spoilers, I think that many people need to be drawn to it and watch it. Hopefully, this motivates people to see it. There are many layers to this movie and many ways it can be interpreted. It is the opposite of escapism, and it is truly a story for the thinking person - and the feeling one. My husband and I watched this show together and found that there was much to talk about during and after the show. There is a lot of depth in it. I think that your review captures the interest that the non-linear telling of the story creates. Other reviewers I have listened to picked up on other aspects of the show. One even mentioned that it reflects Canadian culture. Being a Canadian, I had to reflect on that comment. I asked my husband what he thought of that, and he said that if the movie were made in Hollywood, there would have been a blood bath and Francis would have ended up in jail. Good point. Francis's conciliatory action towards someone whom he might have killed and his continued but fraught relationship with his brother are examples of something that are not likely to be found in a Hollywood show. I hope that those who watched this review go on to watch the movie. It is now on KZbin so it is easily accessible. I suggest that you look for the physical changes in Francis throughout the movie. They are subtle but extremely telling. He often says very little to reveal how he feels or what he thinks but there are clues in how he walks, the tone of his voice, the dullness or brightness in his eyes (I have no idea how that was done but it is there), changes in hair (including facial hair) and even things like bleeding and bruising on his face. If you pay attention to this, you will likely find the final scene nearly shocking. It is hard to believe that the person in that scene is Francis. The change is what really brings home the extent of the trauma and tragedy which is at the heart of his story. He is a different man. Also, I have to give credit to Bruce Greenwood for this because you can only do so much with lighting and make-up.

Over the years, I've watched this film several times. When I rewatched it again a few days ago, I noticed that there were still elements about it that I hadn't picked up on previously. The character of Francis-wow, such a great character and he definitely comes across as someone at the end of his tether. In hindsight, there's something about the mood of this film that reminds me of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, which also seemed underrated until recent years. On a side note, you mentioned the horrible cover of the initial DVD release- I disliked that image so much that I printed out my own (an image of the original movie poster) and slid it into the dust jacket to cover the awful one up. I'll have to seek out the latest Criterion release of this one... definitely a favorite film!
