Which mount did you use to install the Tactacam on the underside?

Hello Grumpy is the stick your using a quick release. Im new to the climbing stick game and im starting to do my research. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I am another old guy, and climbing isn't easy for me. I am able to do it, but it is a bit of a struggle, so I began looking for alternatives. I didn't like using steps, and ladders are way too much trouble. Nothing seemed to make getting into the tree any easier for me until I finally realized that I could hoist myself into the trees using a pulley system with a progress capture device. Now, I can get my old, lazy butt into the trees without any struggle at all, and I can use my pulleys to assist in hauling game uphill or to dress game.

Where did you get your cranking handle relocation mod

I can't remember who makes it. Which is why I didn't mention it in more detail in the video. But, they are easy to find. Google them or check EBay (that's where I got mine). Thanks for watching!

The limb of your crossbow looks perilously close to the tree at times. 1:29 min. mark.
@GrumpyOldHunter28 күн бұрын
It's not. That's one of the advantages of Ravin crossbows. They are very narrow. Thanks for watching.

You really don’t save much money if any building them yourself… those nocs are expensive!
@GrumpyOldHunterАй бұрын
It's not about saving money, it's about quality. The Ravin brand lighted nocks aren't reliable, bright nor a good color. Firenocks are better quality, come in multiple styles and colors and are more reliable. Also, by switching arrows, you save money. About $70 for three .003 Ravin arrows (w/o lighted nocks). About $60 for six .001 Executioners or Zombie Slayers. Ravin's .001 arrows are about $120. Thanks for watching!

And if you're lazy you pee on your tree ?Doesn't your pee gets all over your sticks and ropes?😮
@GrumpyOldHunterАй бұрын
Lol Not usually. It sometimes hits the stick where it touches the tree. But not enough to be an issue. When I 1 stick, my rope stays in the bag and self deploys so it's nowhere near. When I SRT, I turn to the side. Thanks for watching.

I have the Firenock pulley system on my CP400. I have tried their cables and they STRETCH like nobody's business!! I will try the ABBs because I love the cable pulley system concept and it does quiet the bow down.

If you call them, ask to speak to Tim. He is very helpful. When I got my first set, he called Dorge at Firenock to confirm the proper length. Great products, great service. Thanks for watching.

You didn’t mention anything about checking ATA measurement or to check and make sure the cables split the timing dots evenly. I have a Ravin press and quit using it. I bought a press from Archery Dezign. I like it a lot better because you don’t have to turn your bow upside down and with a 26 and 29 series bows you don’t have to take the scope bridge off .
@GrumpyOldHunter2 ай бұрын
I did mention in the video that I don't have to worry about the timing marks because I use the Twin Pulley Cable System from Firenock which basically is self timing. That is also my main complaint with the Ravin press. I can't understand why they made it so you had to turn the bow upside down. Thanks for watching.

Will this only fit the Ravin bolt/ arrow? Or will it fit a zombie slayer bolt as well for the ravin?
@GrumpyOldHunter2 ай бұрын
I don't know if they fit Ravin arrows. I use Executioners or Zombie Slayers. So, yes, it will fit Zombie Slayers. Thanks for watching.

Appricate the instuction. Can you please list the componets needed to build these nocks.
@GrumpyOldHunter2 ай бұрын
Sorry for the delayed reply. My notifications aren't working properly apparently. The easiest thing to do is to go to www.firenock.com, click on "for bow" then select "Ravin" and they have prepackaged products ready. Make sure your read the info on that page as there are 2 different diameter strings and getting the proper nock (c or u) is important. I love these nocks and I have several other Ravin accessories that they make. Dorge, the owner, is very helpful if you have any questions.

Thanks Grumpy for sharing this! Im currently trying out a set up with heavy weedeater line. What climbing rope are you using, like? Thanks, have a Great day, good climbing to ya! Steve
@GrumpyOldHunter8 ай бұрын
I use 10mm Sterling Safety Pro. It's a static line by the same company that makes Canyon and other popular ropes. Since I'm less than 30 feet off of the ground and I rappel down, I prefer a static rope over dynamic.
