Interesting video since abortion is a very controversial topic. As a woman I believe that We MUST have the right to decide what to do with our bodies because that is part of our freedom. Therefore, the law should decriminalize this issue.

Thumbs up for you :v Watching this video made me wonder the following: Bachellet claims "im going to decriminalize abortion in rape cases, in situations where the fetus is not viable or the pregnancy threatens the woman's life", but what does "The fetus is not viable" mean in this context? Imagine that you are pregnant (funny, though xd), and the doctor checks your fetus future baby human being, and this fetus baby human being seems to be having some problems with their brain formation. Now, imagine that this fetus baby human being has a malformation on their right hemisphere part of the brain, and that this abnormal part will, eventually, lead to cognitive-communication problems, such as impaired memory, attention problems, and poor reasoning. Technically, this fetus baby human being is just a burden that is going to come to this miserable world to suffer miserably. Now, question: Is that fetus future baby human being "not viable"?

I strongly believe that every woman has the right to choose what to do with her body, but I also think that abortion should not be used as a contraceptive method. We need to accept that abortion is a hidden and, for many people an unpleasant, part of our society and that's why it is so important to legislate on this issue.

For me, abortion should not be legal in every case of unwanted pregnancy. Not because you do not want to have a child, you should get an abortion. It does not work like that, in my opinion, because it seems like playing with an innocent life. Abortion should only be allowed for victims of sexual crimes, because a woman carrying with this weight on her shoulders could be more damaging than beneficial for the unborn. How would someone feel if he/she realizes at a certain age that he/she was not wanted and is the product of a sexual crime? The consequences of this can be catastrophic. Legalization of abortion comes with a great responsibility and that is commitment from the government to regulate and investigate abortion requests in order for them to be within the law.

I think our legislation lacks from decent principles that favour women as citizens rather than just useful beings for procreation, due to the religious influence that our legislators have and do not leave aside when deciding for the common good. I also think that abortion should be allowed in all cases: when women get pregnant taking contraceptives, when women or girls are raped, when women are too old or too young, or as simply as when they do not want to have kids.

Your point of view is strongly defined, your video made me think the following: what if abortion become legal? Would it be the same number of mother than today? Surely not. That's why I prefer to congrats those who decided not be mothers, even in a context where it is ilegal. They decided to abort with all the risks that it carries on. Morover, In Chile where you can see that there are several empty public politics and in many other struggles, this is not the exception. My opinion, Abortion should be legislated, safe, and free Regards Pame ;)

Abortion it's a really polemic topic. There're so many factors to consider but I think that women should have the right to choose whether they want to have an abortion or not, Independtly of what each person might think. Besides, the fact that they legalize abortion doesn´t mean that every person will do it.
