@@ld9925 We left Forfar in 82 😢 but a baker friend rated the Coop. Back then his opinion was that their meat content was the best. Now in the South West I have to settle for a pasty.😞

Driving into Arbroath this morning I could see the lighthouse clearly in the distance as the sun rose from behind it.

The Florida Keys has lighthouses built on the reefs. Keepers lived on them with their families. Some had a bit of land, some didn’t. My distant cousin was raised on Fowry Rocks Lighthouse. His dad was the keeper, his grandfather kept the Cape Florida lighthouse on Key Biscayne when it was a private island. The most important time to be their was when their was a storm and that was the scariest time too. The light had to be kept lit or ships could run aground and lives could be lost.

Imagine being on one of these in a storm. Scary, damn scary!
@Mr91495osh2 жыл бұрын
Imagine that in the old days, people use to live on these remote lighthouses. At least on this one they could walk on the rocks at low tide, swim and fish. Some, like in the Florida Keys we’re build over the reefs. Swimming only.
