Hit the nail on the head with that. On the first point while hes right, Liam can write the occational great song himself as shown with a few of the songs he wrote on oasis's last 3 albums and bold. Its why he has co-writers instead of them purely writing stuff for him. But yeah summed it up why Beady Eye failed.

I've listened to beady eye alot lately, it's very underrated, it wasn't a failure, far from it... The music is really listenable, get some headphones on and listen to it properly... Great music

You obviously weren’t old enough to remember the start of beady eye. They had ridiculous amounts of promo and songs out before the album release. Even the bbc and channel 4 news announced the band’s arrival. They gave a cd away with the Sunday times or news of the world. A record of the roller away with rolling stone. Various iTunes and online pre order exclusives. They did multiple videos and promo such as Jools Holland and behind the scenes programs on 4 music and KZbin. It stems down to people not liking Liam’s attitude in the later years of Oasis, the band having a weird name, half of the songs being cringy (like his solo stuff) and them not playing oasis tracks.

I think Beady Eye were quality but formed too quickly after Oasis. Had they waited a couple of years, then formed and promoted it properly they would have done pretty well I reckon.

Eh? Liam wrote most of those songs with Andy Bell and Gem, who had multiple Oasis and own-band songwriting credits, so why need songwriters? Great insight from someone who was probably about 7 when Beady Eye came out.
@AkiraFelix-k2l11 ай бұрын
Those records failed because the songs weren't good enough. Look at how little copies sold Dig Out Your Soul compared to anything they released beforehand. Oasis had 2 good things going on, but those 2 things need to be supported by someone who gives a f.

Dude have you even heard those albums? They're absolutely brilliant and Gem and Andy are top top songwriters. Unfortunately you don't really know what you're talking about champ. They didn't fail at all. Sold alot of albums (for the time) played sold out shows and did play a few Oasis tracks live. Not sure where you sourced your info bro. Great band, disbanded because Liam didn't want to commit to it anymore. The songs are far better than his solo offerings.

Shame coz Beady Eye was so good and underrated! In my opinion the songwriting was fine but Liams voice was so knackered. However theres nothing fake about Beady Eye, its authentic and true. The songs, the sound, the vocals all of it ressembles the remains of what was once the greatest band in the world keeping it alive

Reason #1 was bigger than all other reasons combined. They largely had song fragments but not full songs. No choruses, no bridges.
@skrollerbarTV Жыл бұрын
They weren’t a massive failure - 1 or 2 decent tracks - no more massive than the arrogant mess of Noel’s High Flying Birds..which has got less charm than wings. Noel needed Liam because in a bizarre way he made Noel a bit more easier to digest as a performer. Great songwriter - his voice on some of his songs spot on. But Liam a rockstar who has a game changing distinctive voice and boss stage persona! With that an in yer face anti-charm which sold Oasis to the public - if it had been Noel on his own a few hits but nearly as big.
