Fun to do, but sometimes they put the wrong fuse on the mortars, I remember one time I threw one, and exploded mid air like a couple feet away from my hands. Crazy experience.

You built the grapple? Or was this just modified to fit the base of what seems to be a mount of a plow

Yes I built the grapple from scrap steel and made it fit a factory mount for a jd 54" plow

Thank you for the video. Very cool. I've got a 1981 317. Just got the rear pto working and my sleeve hitch mounted. Now I have to rebuild my 48" tiller for it. Then I'm going to switch out my single circuit hydro manifold for a triple that I got off a 420 so I can have two forward circuits and one fornthe mower deck and rear pto. This bucket build will happen after that. Very inspiring.

That is a perfect garden tractor sized grapple! I'm definitely liking it. It looks like a very well thought out, well built, and solid machine. I'm in the beginning stages of planning and building one for my Husqvarna GT. I'm planning on building it on the frame of my Johnny Bucket jr. that way I can quickly switch between the Johnny Bucket jr., the Johnny Plow jr., and the Jesse Grapple jr. (I guess I can call it that since I'm designing and building it, lol). I just have to work out a few details. I see that you used flat plate to make most of your teeth and stuff. I was thinking about using rectangular tubing, but I haven't fully made my mind up yet. I wish there was more of them out there for GTs, but for some reason there pretty much ain't any. So far I've only seen yours and that commercially built one for the new X700 series JDs.

My uncle has a place on the river in between Logansport and Monticello. His place was nearly destroyed that day. He escaped from a window and climbed a tree until the fire department rescued him. He had no warning this was coming until he heard it breaking trees. By then water and ice was everywhere. These ice chunks look small compared to what was left covering his property. I seen ice chunks larger then a 53' semi trailer. I couldn't believe how much damaged that happened, the way lucky to survive because all that protected it from the ice was small area of trees on the bank that deflected the ice. I never will forget that phone call the next day, we worked about a year on that place until we had it all repaired.

Hey thanks bud, glad you enjoyed. I wish I was able to help you out with a grapple, but I don't really have the resources. Most of what I make is from recycled material or whatever I can get my hands on. I think the first video I have of it shows the install and maybe closer footage of it, if you wanna try fab one day. I could also make another video showing it close up and discussing it, if there is any interest. Thanks again and good luck! 🚜
