Christopher Lee said if he was offered a job on a Dracula film that was based on the book he would of jumped at the chance but because it was just dodgy scripts he had had enough especially when they brought it up to modern times.

So tell me how would you do the bat 🦇 without a computer and on a really tight budget because I think your laughing at what was once thought of as an excellent movie one of many of the hammer greats which always made a profit until the year they closed when they actually lost money for once, remember people didn’t have the internet so thankful for entertainment like that of hammer

The coloured filter around the edge is almost like a warning that danger is coming as the censors became more liberal in the late 60s and 70s Hammer increased the amount of flesh as in naked flesh seen especially that of women. The revenge was because Maria’s uncle put that cross on his castle and blessed it so made him homeless 😢poor Dracula.

The type of blood used was called Kensington gore , Cushings wife had died around the filming of this so he pulled out which is why you have the travelling Frier instead, but with everything hammer did in the 50s and 60s they managed to perform miracles on a small budget on small sets, with Sir Christopher Lees contact lenses they were so clouded with paint he couldn’t see most the time, and he performed his own stunts because they couldn’t afford a stunt man, he didn’t want to say anything because he thought the lines were so terrible, the Americans lapped up Hammer films because of the bright colours with some colour added after production.😊

She didn’t turn to an old woman (Lucy) because she was young still when she was turned and she hasn’t been a vampire that long, the female vampire that turned to an old lady was probably turned years before her staking.

If they all put on accents it would be band in today’s over active political climate accusations of racism and xenophobia and cultural appropriation and intolerance would be thrown around like a hot potato 🥔 😂so I for one am kinda glad they all have such beautiful English accents, for example Peter Cushing was told he had to much of a regional accent to make it in acting professionally,

For a film on such a cheap budget £70,000-£100,000 they were excellent especially with Sir Christopher Lee being 6ft5 and Peter Cushing played an excellent Van Helsing a proper professor type, the ring that Lee wears is an exact copy of Lugosis who was buried with his, it’s only loosely based on Stokers book, and the music is literally saying Dracula 🧛🏻. As I say it’s a complete masterpiece for what was spent on it and Lee played Dracula like in the book and as he is from a noble family it came naturally. Just watch the bloody film and you will see what he knows, it was written by Jimmie Sangster .

For what it's worth: Bruce Dern, who played the luckless sailor in "Marnie," went on to appear in a larger role in another Hitchcock film, "Family Plot." "Marnie" comes from a novel from Winston Graham with the same title (set in the U.K., not in the U.S.). It's gone on to become a stage play, a radio play and, believe it or not, an opera.

Diane Baker, who plays Lil Mainwaring, would go on to play Senator Martin in "The Silence of the Lambs." Her film debut was in "The Diary of Anne Frank" as Margot Frank. I met Ms. Baker once and she said that she had some problems with Sean Connery. He insisted that all women "like(d) to be treated rough," and she replied: "This woman doesn't!"

I just found this channel today and have made comments on my top 3 Lee Dracula's. The music for this one was the best in my opinion. Bold, scary, downright terrifying. James Bernard delivered in Freddie Francis' directing debut for the franchise.

This one is great. I have ranked all 1O of the Christopher Lee Dracula movies. My top 3 in the franchise 1) Dracula Prince of Darkness. So good. Christopher Lee doesn't say a word, and makes his first appearance 50 min in, but you are following it closley. Helen was sensational. 2) Horror of Dracula. Excellent movie. Peter Cushing brought the energy and Christopher Lee brought his presence for this classic. 3) Dracula Has Risen From The Grave. I felt this was the last real good one. Freddie Francis directed for the first time and brought his unique style to the film. Excellent shots and visuals.

I'm a big Hammer fan and this is the first time I'm seeing this. I have all the Dracula's ranked. This one is number 1 And the Horror of Dracula 2. These were great movies looking back on them. I'm 52 and Lee terrified me growing up. Lee was so good in his craft, he didn't need to speak. He did not like the lines he was given, and opted not to say them. It was a great call.

Taste The Blood I'll watch your take on that next. The back story and the Bates character was the best part of this one. Christopher Lee almost seemed secondary, but that's what I think made the movie a winner. His demise was not the best. Scars of Dracula was wild. His ending in that was different, and a winner in my opinion.

The reason the coach didn't come back for Katie is very simple. According to King Brian Katie recovered the second Darby took her place, so since she was no longer dying, there wouldn't be anybody to reap after he saved Darby.

One of the things that surprised me about Jonathan Harker's pretense to be a librarian ...It does not say that Count Dracula had put out an ad in the local paper for a librarian. I assume that Dracula wanted his existence kept local and secret to keep investigators away. This did not make sense. Clove was not in this one, but I am assuming that the coach and hearse was driven by Clove because it was in the day when Van Heiling arrived at the castle. Did you notice this?
