Tough question. The snip tool is very common you can get at hardware store it is not a specialty tool. I don’t know if I would substitute rivets for burrs. If you are doing 3 of those bags I would invest in the tools. The burrs sort of add to the rustic look. Good luck

@kendaigle1243
@kendaigle1243 Жыл бұрын
Okay the side panels have a square bottom and a rounded top. On the front and back panels the top is the handle straps in up position if that makes sense. When you go to sew a side to the front side, place the front side on a table with flesh side down. Place side piece on top of the front piece flesh side UP. Now you should have the grain side of a front and back touching each other. Remember 2 side pieces have one more lacing hole. I don discuss this in video
@kendaigle1243
@kendaigle1243 Жыл бұрын
Sorry accidental send. When you have a side and front panel laying on each other, the grain sides of each piece are touching. When you see you are seeing only flesh side of leather.

Buyer BEWARE if you buy this bag kit… the instructions are the literal WORST in existence. Doesn’t explain anything in detail, pictures are confusing, MISSING instructions, and as seen in part 2 of this series, they have the wrong pattern numbers for your items…
@wp9409

Thank you. The instructions for this premium bag suck, especially steps 9 and 10. And specifically, attaching the front panels to the side gussets (using rivets), and stitching the front panel to the gusset. It's like the author lost interest after step 8. The parts list lettering versus the drawings is also jacked up. Not sure if you covered that. I was able to work out most of it. I prefer saddle stitching, so that was a given. And the holes between the butt joints, saw that. But the order and config of the pockets, and missing final instructions were a pain.

@@ClassicMocha Yeah. I had to drill out the two side-gusset rivets. Instructions do not tell you to rivet both front flaps, they only reference the inner one. AND, for $180 they could have included a couple spare rivets and the $10 tool required to set/peen them.

I am making my very own bag, I have some questions to the assembly instructions that came with mine. The gusset straps that are attached to panel C or the front panel literally state for me to rivet the gusset straps in place on just the “front panel” and that is it, nowhere else in the instructions does it tell you specifically where you are supposed to rivet the other end (specifically).
