It would have been slightly better for you to have attacked Southern Finland before attacking Helsinki. The minor shipyard there has 3 points of damage on it from Silk bombing it with his medium bomber. If you held Southern Finland before you attacked Helsinki, then he would have been surrounded. Note that having airborne doctrine saved you from facing inherent anti-aircraft artillery here -- a nice perk of that tech!

Warsaw is closer to Southern Finland/Lapplands via Western Poland-Baltic Sea- Southen Finland/Lappland no? Interesting in the South of the Soviet union :)

regarding the blitz, France cannot be occupied on the first turn, because the first movement must start in enemy territory

The interdiction in v4.2 is based on the unit's combat value. So a coastal submarine only hits on a "1-2" and thus you didn't lose any of your DAK troops!

You will be delighted to learn that in v4.2, they bumped up battlecruisers to do +2 convoy raiding! So you maxed the line and the poor ANZAC have only 1 IPP to spend!

You were wondering about the modifiers for your convoy raiding. Your seaplane on MAP gets a +1. I have Radar and LRA which give +1 each, so I get a +2. If I develop ASW next turn, then I'll get another +1. ASW increases convoy defense, but of course you wouldn't have to face a chance of getting a retaliation hit as ASW only does that to subs. You were right that you couldn't fly over sea zone M8. You mentioned wishing you had attacked the coastal submarine in sea zone M4. You would need to be on MAP to do that, so you didn't have the MAP range to hit him anyway, so no worries there.
