Thanks for posting this. Quick question. Colour aside (I don't mind it) how pleased are you with the quality of the wrap 6mths on? How is it holding up to UV and offroad use? What do you not like about it? Would you do it again? Was it money well spent?

Thanks so much for watching!! I (Andy) can safely say I'm really happy with the colour now and wouldn't change it for anything! We had our doubts on what the final product could turn out like, especially with the rivets however, it's great and we're super happy with it, and continually getting comments about it while we drive around wondering if it's painted or wrapped. Six months on and it still looks how it did when we first collected it however, the only downside to it is that with some off-roading, there are a couple of areas of the wrap that have just started peeling in the corners but this is minor. Would we do it again? Absolutely!

Thank you so much! Andy spent hours upon hours researching everything he could to come up with this setup and it's definitely been worth it, we honestly couldn't be happier with it 😍 Headspace make an incredible roof conversion so we highly recommend getting in touch with them!! Hahah Andy agrees with you there! As the number plates are a little longer here in Australia, they have added a little bracket onto the side so the number plate can actually fit 😅 We actually used to have a bracket in the middle of the spare wheel that held the number plate in place there however, since we have added the trash bag onto our spare wheel, we've had to move it back to the original location.

Great conversion mate, love the clean build and the pastel shaded look you've gone for. I just think the solar panel on the roof isn't going to do much, as when you drive the DC-DC charger will top up the batteries. When you do park, you'll generally look for a shady spot. I reckon you're better off getting a good quality solar blanket and using the roof for some more storage. Cheers.
@rileytheroamer

Thanks mate! We put a lot of time and effort into it so it's always great to hear when others love the clean look we've gone for too 🙌 Definitely a good point you've raised. Generally, we drive every couple of days so the DC-DC charger does most of the work however, living in Australia and practically following summer and spending as much time as possible by the beach, we find ourselves in the sun 9 times out of 10 as we have our massive 270-degree awning for shade. A larger solar panel also would have been a bit more beneficial but space was a tricky factor unfortunately 😢

Very glad you got a Headspace roof conversion. Can you do a video that shows it in detail, in and out? I am very interested in getting one but not so many videos on them. Do you notice the weight on top when you drive? Is the mattress thick enough and is there room for your bedding or do you have to remove most? Is the canvas really thick/good enough for cold/windy weather? So far I find it one of the best designs. Also, How do you put up the side awnings? Are they zip? Are they easy to put on/take off? Thanks!
@rileytheroamer
@rileytheroamer 9 ай бұрын
We couldn't possibly be happier with it!! You're 100% on the right track if you're even considering getting a Headspace conversion. They are by far the best in the market with the quality, workmanship, and everything else in between 😍 We will actually be dropping a new video this week showing a full walkthrough of our build where we touch on the main details of the Headspace conversion. To quickly answer a couple of your questions though, the conversion itself only weighs about 90kgs so you don't really notice the weight up top at all. You can leave all of your bedding upstairs which is a massive game changer for us and the canvas is unreal. It's thick and durable, blackout so you don't get woken up to the sun and holds great in the wind! All up, it only takes about 45 seconds to push the roof up and push the metal poles out to hold the awing out!

I mean as a british guy, we call this "opaline green" so growing up near alot of farms i saw thousands of land-rovers and even tractors in this same colour, at first i was kind of like meh, they were always filthy as well, but it does grow on you over-time, there is like 4 different opaline greens, but eventually it starts to look nice, especially with nice trim, many farmers here added the checkered steel plates as side-skirts, wheel arches, and any trim peices (bumper etc), so i'm sure it looks better its just one of those things that grows on you (:
@rileytheroamer
@rileytheroamer 10 ай бұрын
It sounds like you know exactly what I (Andy) had going through my head when I first saw the colour although, as you mentioned, it's one of those colours that grow on you over time! 😅 We didn't realise it was such a common colour over in the UK, especially for tractors! After sitting with it for a few weeks now, I can confirm that it's officially grown on me, and we both absolutely love it! We'll have a new video going live next week also touching on the fact I'm no longer regretting all the decisions 😂

oh yeah, when this colour first was "mainstream" here with the defenders, people even started using it for there bathrooms (don't do this) its nice as a vehicle colour but absolutely horrible as a bathroom colour, brits go through weird transitions, we went from opaline green bathrooms to british racing green bathrooms, lmao now i think most people buy netural colours, grey, dark blue, black etc And yeah you won't regret it at all honestly, im sure its a extremely unique colour there for a vehicle, even here now you don't really see it anymore except the odd 1-2 defenders or range rovers, but even then its rare now @@rileytheroamer
