How loud is the motor when running? The condenser microphone on your recording device doesn't give a true representation of the dB level.

I turn down the volume when editing so it doesn’t make people deaf :-) it can be pretty loud in a small room. My smaller compressor was loud too. Just comes with the territory

I have one of these, must be at-least 25 years old. It’s not HF but looks identical. I have made smaller repairs with parts from mostly the internet. After years of it not starting in cold weather I decided to put in 10w30 synthetic motor oil. It starts every time now without fail. I felt I did not have much to lose at that point. No sign of anything wrong and that was about 10 years ago. Now I noticed they sell all weather compressor oil online. That’s an option if you don’t want to use motor oil. I’m a medium duty diy compressor user. If I ever replace this one I will get one like yours again. Yes low power delivery and other problems cause hard start problems but everything else being good it is the oil.

If no one figured it out, the issue is there's no head pressure relief when it shuts down or it's not working correctly. You should hear a pressure release when the unit shuts off and there should be an automatic valve to isolate tank pressure.

These machines indeed are loud. I have one of them, however, with two stroke engines they’re not all like this, but some are, they need a couple of minutes. I’ve just idling to warm up. It’s actually better for them not to run full blast when they are first started. Once it’s seated up, though it will whale away.

Does the intermediate shaft cause a rattle in the steering wheel in my 2009 venza, or could it be the metric power steering damper i seen on earlier video, any way keep up the good work. Scott.

I wish I could help you. When I drove this vehicle, I could not even tell that there was a problem. The owner noticed the problem, ordered the parts and asked me to do the work. Afterwards, I still could not tell the difference. The owner could tell. I think it was early on before the problem got worse and became really noticeable
@pkennedy4256

I had a rattle in the steering column in my 09 venza. But there was no clunking noise just a rattle over bumpy roads. So I thought it was the power steering damper. I took it apart and the little green rubber piece that is sandwich between the black plastic was completely intact. But since I had already ordered the damper I replaced anyways and it did not stop the rattle. Since I had the lower panels off. I took it for a test drive and reached up in there and grabbed the intermediate shaft. I twisted a little causing it to bind and the rattle stopped. So it was the upper universal joint on the intermediate shaft.

Your video helped me disassemble the lower section around the motor and gears. Some twine had gotten wrapped so tightly around the shaft that the motor could not spin the head. Was able with your help to get it back in working order. Your tip about the T-15 bit is gold.

The way I would fix those wandering bars is I would tap some threads on each end then spin a nut on those threads with a drop or two of thread locking compound.

@arlenecruz1734 match the pressure to your water pressure unless water pressure is extremely high. Mine was around 40psi

For the compound to be on the DRO you would need another function and scale on the readout. Without a scale it has no way of measuring the travel and the readout has no place to display if it did. You can put a cheap Igaging unit on just the compound if you wish. The chinese DRO's are pretty cheap and touch screens are becoming popular. For three or four hundred dollars you could change it out and get a three function unit.

Hello and thank you. a heads up here. You can do this without removing the 2 screws on the lower assy . just carefully lift off top white assy. there re 2 pieces with a spring in between. Slide your cord thru the cover and into the pully. u might need something small to push cord thru to center. tie a knot and put it back together. there is a approx.1 inch diameter wrap spring that goes in between. the tang that is offset and closer to center goes down into the hole. place the upper piece on and reinstall bolt. wrap the cord back on like in this fine explanation. I was back running in 20 minutes. i have a 445 Xcut. Mechanism is the same as in this demo

Appreciate the review. Really liked the fact that you were diligent enough to solve the problem, rather than spreading bad info. 100 tp 150 feet is a LONG scoot. Just like coax cable every linear foot reduces power. Has you used a die grinder or something similar to see how the recovery is ??

Kill switch wire on FJ180v is cRaZy. Easy like yours at the coil end - slip off, slip on -- but it's bolted to a plate near the engine: the bolt passes through an insulation block up top, and underneath it goes through a short thin copper strip bent at one end and cut into a V at the other. I shouldn't have removed that end just left it on and now I have no idea which way round the bend on the strip goes. The PDF is no help. Anyone any ideas?
