Why not using it? Not compatible with my 2017 iPad that is still updated, need a bionic A12 based iPad or iPhone at least. This is top demanding even on pc.

Oddly enough I can hit much higher power levels for efforts 10 minutes or long on my bike+ than I can on zwift with my trainer. On sprints the bike+ is much lower though.

The market is heading towards direct drive trainers and we haven’t seen anything new with wheel-ons in many years. They also tend to have a lot of accuracy issues so I decided to leave them out.

Great video. I'm using a Zwift Ride with Kickr Core and this works great. If I want to do a workout *without* using Erg mode, is that possible? In other words, could I put it in "standard" mode in TR and control power from Zwift? Thanks for this helpful video.
@SmartBikeTrainers7 күн бұрын
Yes, you should be able to change the resistance in TR from erg to resistance mode and control the trainer that way.

I have both: all things being equal, using the Wahoo App: more effort is needed on the Rollr: using the App resistance level set to a low setting of "5" Im using more wattage/effort in the same chainring/cassette position on the Rollr as opposed to the Kickr 5, using a cadence of 80rpms. Of course "speed" is irrelevant (were not outdoors). Road feel is excellent.

its really big. Its also heavy at 212 grams. I guess the big question is that will these updates come for the wind sensor and other features for the Wahoo Element Ace, or will the Wahoo Element Ace just die off like what Wahoo did with their Watch Wahoo Element Rival. I sure hope it works out for them. I want like Wahoo but they just keep showing up to prematurely with some of their products that needed extra time before launching and then they ended up flopping. With everyone's KZbin reviews ending up with so many question mark about the device i just don't see anyone rushing to dump $600 plus tax on a bike computer

I’m curious why you said “not quite up to par with Wahoo Kickr Core” as far as ride feel?
@SmartBikeTrainers8 күн бұрын
The Victory has a slightly smaller flywheel than the Core. It’s about 2lbs lighter than the Core. It’s a small difference but can be felt in the flywheel momentum or inertia. It’s not very noticeable but it’s there.

I used to think that buying a bike was one of the hardest decisions I had ever made. Not anymore. Buying a bike trainer is far more difficult. After hours of research, I came to the conclusion that the VAN RYSEL Interactive Turbo Trainer D100 would be the best option for my needs. But here’s the frustrating part: there aren’t any available to buy, or if there are, they won’t deliver to Finland. So now I have to decide whether to wait indefinitely for them to become available again or spend 200 euros more on a bike trainer that is way too overkil for my needs. I would have wanted a simple one to train during winter. Main sport being running. Lisää kommentti

So, Tariq, when you did that demo in the car were you using a road bike profile? I presume there is no "Car" profile (though some gps units, like a TwoNav unit I own) do have one ( and I sometimes use it in my car). Just wondering if this could be an extra function.
@SmartBikeTrainers10 күн бұрын
I was using the road bike profile 🙂
@jamessalter533010 күн бұрын
@SmartBikeTrainers I guess you could also use the e-bike profile. I have just ordered the unit and will be checking to see if it works in the car as I like the clear map and instructions. A lot of the reviews of this unit seem to be overly negative, it seems to me, so yours sort of clinched it for me. As I have both the Bolt and Roam, both V2, I trust Wahoo and believe a lot of issues will be resolved pretty quickly.

Both are excellent trainers. The Core has a slightly better road feel IMO, but other than that, they are both very similar in terms of performance.

Can you use the wahoo computer or app to change the resistance via erg mode during a workout? I needed a solution for trainer compatible for a 8, 9, and 12 speed bike. This really simplifies it but my wife doesn’t use Zwift. Maybe we can use trainer road instead?

DC Rainmakers has a far better review and raises very valid points on to why this is a bad product. I've not had hands on experience with it, there are some bits of interest, but on the whole, no idea on what they were trying to accomplish on this other than being the first through the door with a windspeed sensor on a head unit. DCR shows all the fails and development needed point that need to be addressed to an unfinished product. If this sells, it'll be in the lower order of numbers, not a high seller as there's no defined market of buyers that this address (too big and heavy for racing, wind sensor not good enough for sport science/coaching uses, not long enough battery or extension packs for ultra-endurance riders, why would a tourist need wind sensor/CdA?, too expensive for first timers..........).
@SmartBikeTrainers14 күн бұрын
He raises a lot of valid points but I do not think it’s a completely a bad or failed product either. Many have been asking for a bigger screens and a touch screen and wahoo delivered on both. Whether you decide to use the data from the wind sensor or not, that’s up to the consumer. This is no different than vertical oscillation that many devices have been measuring in running and we haven’t seen any value from it.
@a.cyclist14 күн бұрын
@@SmartBikeTrainers If it was just the demand for larger screens, then yeah, it works. Fix the bugs DCR raises, but it would be a decent (if heavy) large screen device. But then it needs to be reallly good with a big screen. And lighter because if it's used with a light, there's near or over a kilo of weight levered off the front of the bars supported by that clamp and subjected to fatigue from vibrations. Selling the wind speed sensor being in there as a USP doesn't make sense. Sensors for oscillations makes sense - they're good if you're using the Garmin Edge off-road and timing jumps, or if the crash detection is being used. There's good general applications there for all riders. But the wind speed, it's feels shoe horned in. If it had been a standalone sensor hanging under the mount, exclusive to the Ace and Bolt (one for top spec, one for racing analysis) then I'd be tempted away from Garmin.
@josediaspinto743811 күн бұрын
DCR focused only on the negative aspects of the device but we, prospective buyers need a more balanced review, and i think this one accomplishes it.

Hi, as far as I know there is an app that allows you to use the virtual gear shift of the Zwift Bike also in other applications. So it would be possible to use Whoosh for example not only in erg mode but also with the possibility of using the virtual shift in sim mode. The application should be called QZ (qdomyos-zwift). I'll admit that I haven't tried it yet.

Kind of absurd to make a device that isnt compatible with current mounts, especially for a premium device, when so mamy of the target marks will have integrated bars/mounts.

"A shot on the foot" its what wahoo made with the lunch of this ugly device. puting a bell (not original) and adding a wind (placebo) sensor and give me 600€. My first ever bike computer was a wahoo bolt, i love so much that device, unfortunately too much years and not hold much juice. this year i change to garmin and now comming out this aberration in form of bike computer. I feel like I had all of this years ago w my Hammerhead 2, at half the cost, with a brighter touch-screen. Okay, I don't have a wind force detector, but not sure that matters to me. Given the new price tier, it seems like all headset developers could step-up their pace of innovation.

I like the bigger screen and improved battery life. I also like that I can push buttons or use touch screen. The wind data stuff is a gimmick. I wish they would not have spent the time and cost to do this. Wahoo screens are better than garmin, to me. Numbers on the screen have higher DPI and appear blacker. I have garmin 1040 and hate it. Rain drops in races or events have left the garmin useless because I can't maintain the screen I want to stay on. I will be curious to know how rain drops affect the screen on the ace.
