My wife and I met our new puppy this past Sunday. What a beautiful blue Great Dane he is, we are so excited to bring him home in about 4 weeks! We also met his parents, his dad is a massive 185lbs! He wasn't too pleased to see us near his pups either. He was very intimidating. We also met an adult female Great Dane who was very friendly and loving. I enjoyed this video and it gave us an idea of what we can look forward to over the years to come.

My wife and I have two yellow labs that we absolutely love and adore. Our female is 13 years old and our male is 5 years old but still likes to play. We recently reserved a male blue Great Dane puppy. How do you think the Great Dane will treat our labs as he grows? That's the only thing I am worried about, we couldn't tolerate anything that would be aggressive towards our labs. From what we have seen on KZbin, Great Danes can be just as friendly and loving as labs so that's what we're hoping for.

Good questions, we had a lab, and you are right, they are very loving and smart pets. Great Danes, like people, have their own personalities. A lot depends on how they are raised, if they have a loving family, they will follow suit. Our current Dane is a rescue that had a traumatic environment as a puppy. She tried to protect Mom and the kids as Dad become abusive. After 4 years of getting her around various people, she has became a very loving, still protective, family member. I am not a pet expert, but believe since you are getting a puppy, you can raise him/her to get along with your labs and others. Great Danes by nature are very gentle and kind pets, unless someone makes them mean. I have a very short video about our new Great Dane how she reacted with our terminally ill Pit Bull. May the Lord bless you for adopting Siggy! She is such a beauty! I`ve never had a pup that size before, but my cousin has had three and he loved them deeply and said they were excellent companions. All our pups have been rescues; because we live in a small townhouse with a mini-yard, I felt it would not be fair to a large dog. However, if one comes my way, our door and our hearts are open. ❤

I have 4 daughters. The youngest is 3 and has autism. My female Great Dane is great with her. So gentle with her and follows her everywhere. I could watch them interact for hours.

All of my Great Danes have been the same way, both males and females. They are really chilled and relaxed, until someone gets to close to anyone of us and does not seen right. Then they become fierce protectors.

Good video. The Dane is a fantastic family dog! I think people get into trouble when they aren't prepared for the size. If you find an aggressive Dane, it is the owner's fault not the dog!

These beautiful fur babies do nothing wrong but love you unconditionally, and you just throw them away when they become old, and when they need you most. I love Great Danes and have always wanted one. Unfortunately, I will never have one. First of all, I have a Border Collie that I love so much, and second, I am 66 with a knee that is angry all the time, and that makes walking difficult, so I watch videos. Once again, Thank You. I’ve had Danes for over 40 years. The most gentle and kind dogs ever. They averaged out to about 14 years old, with one living to 16. Mine have all been European type dogs, so considerably larger than the American type. When you are kissed by a Great Dane, you know it!

As a parent of an elderly (8+ yr old) black Great Dane, this really touched me. I can see that Brandy has slowed down a lot, but she is still playful and wants to go on walks. I have had Great Danes around me from the time I was one year old, I'm 61 now. Over the years I have had 10 Great Danes come into my life. Some lived longer than others, but they all went too soon. There is no greater joy than having the love of these fantastic dogs, but the loss is painful, but worth the years of love. to all of the Great Dane parents out there, give your buddy a hug from me. We also have a black Dane that we rescued 4 years ago. It took 20 years after my last Dane to get another one, because I did not want to go through the grief again. She is my third Dane and my wife's first. They do not live long enough, but what life they do live is unforgettable!

My parents had Great Danes since I was 7 or 8 so early 90s all the way up to 2018. In 2022 my then fiance and I went to our first dog show together. We happened upon many large breeds but didnt see any Great Danes until we stumbled upon an older couple whose dog had won best in its class. A beautiful blue GD. I was surprisingly overwhelmed once I started petting the dog. I got super emotional and I was so happy to see one as it was like I was shaking hands with one of ours from years back. Naturally I had my picture taken with him and gave him a big hug. He was young but very well trained. I hope once my wife and are able to move into a large place with more space we might be able to consider taking one on. Thank you for sharing experience with us!

I have rescued many pups of different breeds. I live to give as much Love as I can to dogs that need a loving, happy life. Two years ago, we brought our first Great Dane into our family, a one year old Chocolate Dane named Kash. Of course, that is not his registered name, but he thinks Chicory is kinda girly.😂 Kash was somewhat of a rescue that was 1 yr old, underweight, and heartworm positive. He is 3 yrs old as of May, 147 lbs of pure goofiness and healthy. He is a huge presence in our lives and a breed like no other! 💙🫶

My last Great Dane, Ricky, was the love of my life. He weighed 180 lbs and would always greet me by standing on his hind legs and placing his front paws on my shoulders while resting his head on top of my head. He would even hug me wrapping his front legs around my neck. He was a wonderful protector as well. When my mother would scold my father for whatever, Ricky would place himself between the two of them and warn my mother to knock it off with a menacing growl. He passed away at age 8 when I sas 25 years old. I am now 86 and still miss him. Love you forever Ricky.

I adopted my great dane just a few months ago. She is a very fearful dog, totally under socialized, she growled at me for an entire hour when I first met her at the shelter. Still I fell in love with her, adopted her and within 2weeks got her the gastropexy surgery to prevent her from ever getting bloat which saddly affects 42% of great danes and is usually a deadly condition unless undergoing emergency surgery but even then, the dog may not survive. My great dane is 2 years old but she behaves like a goofy teenager which brings a smile to my face every day!

@@SiggyDesigns She had a brief meeting with my dogs at the shelter which went relatively well but once she got to my home she would either snap at them or growl at them when they would approach her. Within a month after her arrival, she started to share space with them and now will play and exchange kisses. You are right, great danes are a special breed!

I have a harlequin Great Dane that is 6 years old. He was at a shelter in Georgia and we got him when he was 9 months old. He has been a wonderful companion. I enjoy every moment with him. He is such a social butterfly! He is affectionate and loving. He loves car rides!
