What a wonderful find. I knew Gary quite well for a handful of years when we lived in the same small town, Nevada City, California, circa 1980. This simple, expertly produced song and performance capture the spirit of Gary beautifully.

when we play our electric violins in "acoustic mode" we miss out on a whole universe of possibilities that are at our fingertips and that consist of playing with chorus, reverberation, and sustain effects, using forced harmonics in fifths, sixths, octavar , distort... effects that acoustic instruments cannot perform because they do not have the possibility to manipulate the sound source in such a beautiful and varied way as when the instrument is connected to a pedal and a computer. We still have a long way to go to fully exploit the real interpretive possibilities of these instruments.

@@JustFiddler yes it sounds like acoustic violin it has lovely acoustic and loud enough sound . Of course depends the place you play ..? Have a look at my playlist of Violinna Violinist for more videos she plays lot's of places so you can see more examples :)
