I live in Hilo, Hawai’i and my wife and I was heading to our kitchen and pulled up to a semi with a dump, it was lit the FCK Up! I told my wife, who had a CDL with more endorsement than I have?! I love how today’s trucks are lit the F up because in my 30 years/ my wife’s 20 years of driving, it was dark as hell!😂 🤙🏾💕💜🇺🇸🤙🏾😮😂

I'm definitely a day driver. I'll start my clock at 0500 then shut down around 1600 ideally. Unless you're driving through a city, I can't see beyond my headlights and there's almost always incoming traffic so I can't use high beams. I haven't hit any animals yet thank goodness, except the occasional bird.

Most humans sleep at night, so drowsiness is a real problem. There’s also very few people to talk to so loneliness can set in. Third, after Covid most truck stops have replaced their 24 hour “family” restaurant with fast food joints that aren’t open at night. So you wind up sleepy, lonely, and only have junk to eat.

This is true but, I watch some trucker KZbinrs and one of the best things I saw on it was a self heating stove pan. All he had to do was turn a dial on the pan and it heated up. I use to do ramp truck and was out for 12-15hours 5 a week and that pan woulda helped me ALOT instead of eating the otr stuff. Idk if that’s your truck but if u got a fridge you’d even be in more business

I drove OTR for 30 years. Always hated night time driving. You are 48% more likely to have an incident at night, simply because you cannot see. Plus, parking spaces are nonexistent at night. It sucks!

As I’m sure you know, parking is easier when you drive at night and are parking in the morning. I always preferred driving at night since there’s less traffic and it’s easier to park if you leave at 11-midnight and park it at 8-9. Easier to drive and easier to park… taking the 30 minute break sometimes sucked but it’s usually not too hard to find a dead truck stop or a rest area ramp or something.

Do not ever use WD-40 use the graphite yes not WD-40. You will fuck your alternator so bad and the rust once it starts.

My dad was on a road trip to get from where he works to his garage, alternator not charging the battery. He had a taxi drive a battery to him. The taxi drive smacked the alternator with a crescent wrench a few times and said that will get you there. Sure enough it did 😂
