Always used hardbacks as I never got sucked into the peeler rip-off scheme.

@richardjones2811 it's a personal preference but me and most of the people I fish with use hardbacks and we all do very well. I totally get the effort people go through to get peelers but I'm not going to pay £1.50 to £2 per crab when hardbacks do the same job! Sometimes I find the hardbacks pick out the bigger hounds anyway. I try to save some peelers that I find amongst the crabs I collect and freeze them for when the water is really colored, or I use tiger prawns

Great vid!! What are the overhand knots in the dongle braid for? And would this still lip hook on a running rig?

Thank you! The knots are just to help prevent the bait from slipping down once binded on. I would imagine it will lip hook on any rig mate although I've only used it on a few rigs that I use for smoothounds and rays!

Well fished mate, nice session despite the hounds having other ideas! Nice to get out with you as always. (I’ve had 3 doubles this year btw, not 2!! 1 hound and 2 rays!! 😜)
