Bro I seen ur south Florida Everglades herping video , is there any tips u can give me or myb some spots or roads ? I hit loop road and surrounding trails like 3 times now and only seen 1 black racer
@conorscolubrids5755 Жыл бұрын
Yeah for sure, just cruise one hour before sundown and up to one hour after dark. As for spots, Hendry County area is where we cruise down there. All those long country roads by the sugar cane fields are great spots! Less traffic = more snakes (for the most part).

@@Bangitout6 , no worries! Sorry for the delay as well. Early spring and late summer are the best months. Mid summer tends to be TOO hot for road cruising. I’d stick with flipping and checking under bridges, etc. for days where it’s above 90° avg.

I saved appx $200 on the painting process and $200 on the install. But the huge savings came with being able to buy an aftermarket fender by doing it myself.

NO JUST NO BRO. SNAKES IN A SACK??????????
@michelleleefrederick22124 жыл бұрын
Adorable!! But how did it breathe in that box??
@debayeuxchats56074 жыл бұрын
Cardboard, Styrofoam, and cloth are all permeable. In addition, a snake's metabolism is regulated by temperature- if the box was kept cool-ish, he wouldn't need that much oxygen in the first place. :) Snakes also seem to do pretty well shipped like this compared to mammals, and it's rare to hear of a snake being troubled by it as long as the temperature stays constant and nice.

Are females or males bigger with kingsnakes
@6strings7354 жыл бұрын
In my experience males get a little bigger after some years, but the size differences are not as drastic as in some other snake species.
@conorscolubrids5755 Жыл бұрын
The genetics (not morphs, etc, but parental genetics) have surprised me the most with size. Out of a controlled clutch (same diet, schedule, etc) some get larger than siblings, not including those who refuse meals. Breeding those larger individuals produces larger babies. Seems obvious, but cool to actually see. I haven’t noticed a huge size difference between sexes, though.

Is the best way to go herping, just to go out and start flipping stuff over? And do you reccomend and certain type of snake hook? I am looking to get out and get pictures of different reptiles
@conorscolubrids5755 Жыл бұрын
So sorry for the TWO YEAR delay, omg I apologize! Flipping debris is a great way to find snakes, and the funnest in my opinion. Easiest way is just to simply a drive a low-traffic, rural area around dusk. The road is effectively turned into a giant heat rock. Seeing in a type of thermal vision, snakes literally come out of the woodwork to heat up on the road as the night temps drop. I recommend a titanium hook, not aluminum. Although heavier, it won’t bend as easy when using it to flip cover. Good luck!!
