RDR2 is not open world game. It is 'wide linear' game. World in RDR2 is just a decoration, nothing more. True open world games are based on game mechanics. True open world games are made for 'samurai' who has no goal, only path. If you like just play - you play endless open world games. This is the key difference between true open world and decorative open world. If you want to experience true open world game, try X Universe: X3 or X4. So, answering the question. True open world games are designed for players who prefer to set their own goals rather than follow tasks set by scriptwriters. I hope there always be enough of this kind of players, and true open world games will remain popular as well.

@@Krzwastaken, there is no 'world' in RDR2. There are only predetermined events in predetermined places. It's not a world, it's a theatrical set made of plywood. In contrary, all NPC units in X3-X4 exist and execute their jobs even if you are far away. This is what the world is.

It's just rockstar, man, they're always ahead of their time, the fans said "the game is ahead of its time." And stuff like this for rdr1 and gta4, i am still shocked how this game is 6 years old while i think no game is really gonna catch up to it, the only game that's gonna catch up to it, is probably gta 6, but at the end, rockstar games are always ahead of their time.

@@mahankabi3073 true but still the fact that we're a whole console generation ahead now and we're still not getting anything that really does what this game does as a complete package (combination of graphics, gameplay, interactivity, world, etc) really for me is the shocking part. I'm not sure what the budget was for the game but I'm pretty sure other games now are at least starting to get around it without a fraction of the quality overall and in fact are actually getting worse the bigger the budget which is crazy. 100% get what you're saying though, Rockstar are always ahead of their time, I remember even when Cyberpunk came out there was that talk about GTA 5s police AI being way more advanced 7 years earlier.

@@TwitterySnake most game studios mostly are looking for money without putting actual work on their game, i dont mean that video game studios dont work hard for their games but i always feel like they could do better, but they either don't put a big budget for a game or just lazy or something like, for example call of duty, they are literally releasing a new call of duty every year, and surely it's not enough time to make a good campaign or improve their game out of it, and as you probably know, they are making some short campaign instead of actually putting years and years of hard work, also I totally understand and agree your opinion.

To be fair the only ones that aren't worth playing anymore are Fallout 1 and 2. As well as New Vegas. Especially New Vegas. It is so boring. At least Fallout 4 is fun to play.

Thank you for the comments/feedback! At some point I will get to a Starfield review, since it's a very large game that I already finished when it came out I would prefer to wait until the Shattered Space Expansion is out and see what changes its brings before doing a fully comprehensive review of the game. It is something that I am actively planning to do so if you're interested keep an eye on the channel 👍
