Yes! Romani culture is so beautiful, btw gypsy is a word used to describe romani people as thieves and many stereotypes but they call themselves gypsies.

Our group was formally called Gypsy Dance Theater, but we have now changed it too Global Dance Theater because we dance in very dynamic styles of all cultures. I was not doing a traditional gypsy dance here, but used elements. :)

No it is not! And It wasnt meant to be. Our group was called Gypsy Dance Theater, but we actually fuse different styles of various cultures. Bellydance, folkloric, flamenco, etc. We are now called Global Dance Theater! :)

@@skiddiesloveyouguys567 belly dance was created by Romani/Domari people actually! So it’s 100% “gypsy” Although most of us consider that word a slur

You are correct! I usually wear harem pants when I perform, but in Texas it gets really really hot. I was not dressed in authentic gypsy outfits here! We just adapted traditional elements and fused them with belly dance in our group.
