Pressing UP makes gravity super-strong for a split second. Pressing DOWN while the piece is touching the ground will skip lock delay and lock it immediately. With practice it becomes a wrist motion to drop+lock pieces rapidly, or circular motions of the joystick for some drop-slide-lock moves.

Honestly I don't know. I don't play much lately and my PS3 mostly sits idle these days. I was introduced to this game by a friend so I had in-person guidance which probably kickstarted my skill. Also, Babel is something that can be learned. Though it's different every time, the block spawner has specific rules it follows about what's available and the game level. There does come a point where it isn't a surprise what comes up and you're just going through the rhythms.

@@DeHackEd Thanks, after a few days of more intense gaming, I did it ! :D To me Obelisk was a bit harder because of all the random stuff (I did it solo). Axis required more thinking and carefulness... I must say that it's really a special feeling having completed Catherine, this Platinum will surely be remembered :)

The party has no characters left in it when Shadow leaves. The game "knows" how to remove characters from the party, as it does it constantly during the game, but it doesn't "know" what to do when the party has no characters in it at all, because that's never supposed to happen. So, the game locks until you reset.

Push them away (forward) from you. Create options

Altar is only ~150 steps tall and the last 10 are fairly easy. You're almost at the end. Focus on the fundamentals. Keep a 2-wide (minimum) platform to stand on and go one row at a time. Ask yourself how big a platform you need to go up, build it, and then go up. This is doable!

My tower is always too narrow when i get to my highest. I can't get past 130 but when watching your gameplay, I see you try and destroy layers early more than I do so I'll see if that helps me.

Stability is everything. If you need to bring it down, try to bring it down in one solid piece. Once it starts going checker-board and diagonal gaps it can't be repaired by gravity alone. Once you get close to the top you end up with tall sections with narrow bases. That's definitely the hard part of Altar. Knocking them down works, but only to a point. The game won't spawn the goal until you reach a certain step count so the goal will always be at around 145-150 steps and anything that slows you down risks the bottom of the level falling out from under you.

my asset in Tetris is def recoveries, i make plenty of misplacements, i'm not that fast esp. at advanced tricks and setups, but i've blocked off a few gaps, got an update from windows after, and even after taking a few seconds in 20G of all speeds to close it, was able to clear all holes within a couple of minutes

Only one laser is fired.. but if you mash your rotation buttons (all the buttons count), the laser fired into your playfield will increase/widen. A 2-wide hole is much easier to deal with than a 1-wide hole. Also you can tap left/right to move the lasers a bit. (See also the "Huge frickin' laser!" video in my channel where I used tool-assistance to see what I could do to TGM2.)

Sorry for asking so many questions ;u; but what happens when you activate multiple items at once?

You can't. Activating an item invalidates all other items on your playfield and turns them back into normal blocks. I'm not sure what the logic is if you activate 2+ items at once, but only one activates and the rest just go away. So there's an incentive to activate it quickly once it arrives. If an item is in your Next box and you use an item, the Next box item is also invalidated. :/ So do be quick.

Umm... Sort of. Stability is important and sometimes the best way to achieve that is controlled demolition. Once the wall starts looking like a checkerboard, it can't be salvaged by mere gravity.

There's a button inside the arcade machine itself that calls up the menu, behind lock and key held by the arcade owner. (There's also a button that's equivalent to inserting a coin in there... You know, arcade and all)
