Guess what? We just launched our new Streamdeck app today! You can still use Bitfocus (like in this tutorial) or you can simply add the Epiphan Pearl app from Elgato Marketplace. marketplace.elgato.com/product/epiphan-pearl-4d92ce2d-f058-4df1-82f7-a4a36568b94f

I just recently upgraded my R9 5900X gaming PC from an RTX3060ti to an RX 7900 XT, using a 2.0 cable to my Hisense 75A6H. I have persistent audio glitches now that were not there before. The card does support 2.1, and I have heard of others using a Displayport to HDMI adapter cable to solve this problem. But I'm curious as to what the DP to HDMI cable does that an HDMI 2.1 cable would not.
@Epiphan
@Epiphan 16 күн бұрын
Your RX 7900 XT supports both HDMI 2.1a output and Displayport 2.1. HDMI 2.1a will support 4K resolution at 120Hz with HDR. Displayport 2.1 will support 4K resolution at up to 480Hz. Your Hisense 75A6H supports HDMI 2.1 input however it's native refresh rate is 60Hz. So whether you connect your TV with HDMI directly, or a Displayport to HDMI cable, your TV will only display up to 4K at 60Hz.

@Epiphan That I understand. However, my problem is not with the video, it is with the audio, and no one seems to have an answer.

@@anonymousinc6330What has changed since before when you didn't have glitches? You are using a different cable?
@anonymousinc6330
@anonymousinc6330 12 күн бұрын
@@Epiphan Glitches started immediately after installing the 7900 XT. As for the cable, no. Double-checked cable is a 2.0, which should be good for my needs of 4K60. Interestingly, I have since started a return for the 7900XT and bought a Tuf Gaming RTX3090, only to have the same problems. Neither card can do what my RTX3060ti could, and games are crashing if I even try. Issues are uniform between either card, and between a dual boot of Mint Cinnamon / WinBlows 10 64 Pro. Further troubleshooting has revealed that even though 'Above 4G' and 'Resizable BAR' are turned on in BIOS, GPU-Z and Precision x1 show that Resizable BAR is disabled for the 3090. Nvidia Control Panel shows the same thing. Some threads show that these cards require a VBIOS update to support Resizable BAR (really, Asus? WTH? It's supposed to support that out of the box!). But wait, it gets better -- some owners report their Tuf 3090s were bricked by Asus' own BIOS update. And Nvidia's firmware update instructions are nothing short of confusing, as I dual boot Mint Cinnamon and WinBlows. Gigabyte says my B550 Aorus Master F17 BIOS should support, but I am updating to the latest today just in case. I have an HDMI 2.1 cable on the way in case, but I'm starting to think that since my board is a 2020 / 2021 model, it just isn't going to let me use anything better than a 3060ti. If the motherboard BIOS update and cable do not fix it, and no one has any other ideas, I think I'm just going to pack the 3090 back up, sell it and get another 3060ti. It's just not worth the aggravation. I have autism and lack the energy or the patience for all this BS. I literally am getting headaches and getting sick from all the aggravation of various 'fixes' doing nothing to solve the problem.

My english is not so good but is there any effects on quality ? which one gives more stabel bitrate ?
@Epiphan
@Epiphan 3 ай бұрын
Both are stable. Quality will be the same at any given bitrate. However HLS can support adaptive bitrate, which may be better for viewers with varying internet speeds or devices. It does come with higher latency however.

Is there any Microphone with inbuilt pre amplification of sound and convert of analogoue to USB ?
@Epiphan
@Epiphan 8 ай бұрын
With Pearl Mini you have phantom power, so you can plug a microphone directly into the device. If you want more control you could use a USB audio interface that will amplify your Mic and then input to Pearl with USB.

In conclusion, the amount of bitrate feeds the quality of movement in the scene, something that has been misinterpreted many times, thinking that for any scene everything is the same for the simple fact of having the same number of pixels in its resolution. And you dear reader can do nothing to solve it, but increasing the bitrate… One of the solutions without increasing the bitrate is to lower the fps and when you do this you get a poor fluency result so it gets worse. I forgot, From the root it also happens that: there are other factors such as the resampling rate that can harm this and no matter how much bitrate you set it will not be solved, it is a bit more coding at the time the rendering happens and once processed there is no going back but you can make up with algorithmic blur effects.

The optics capable of resolving true 8k will be huge and extremelly expensive as well as the amount of processing power needed to crop and process so many pixels will be huge too. You'd better go with a PTZ. At least for the moment. Maybe in some years it will change. As you mentioned, croping from the same unique angle is not the same as having two different cameras shooting from different angles. The results in terms of composition are very poor.

What with latency on HDMI inputs, any chances to minimize it? I undestand, what it depends of encoding input signal on H264 for record/streaming. But if I decide to use it as a vidiomixer (Resolume, live VJ-ing), what with this?
@Epiphan
@Epiphan Жыл бұрын
No latency on inputs. Small latency on HDMI output ~100ms. Streaming latency will depend on your protocol (eg. RTMP vs HLS vs SRT) and your content delivery network (eg. KZbin vs Vimeo vs Wowza) Perfectly suitable for video mixing. Also supports media playback, which you may find useful.
