You can take GCSE Maths and English Language with us in November 😊 You still have to sit your exams in-person at an accredited centre which are assessed by hand-written assignments. However, if you want to discuss access arrangements to suit you, this can be done with the exam centre before hand. If you have any further questions, please let us know! Thanks

Hello! If you want to pursue a degree in nursing, the Access to Higher Education Health Professions Diploma would be the one, as it lends itself to healthcare careers such as nursing and midwifery. In terms of entry requirements, you must be at least 19 years old, and you will also need to have a minimum of a grade C or 4 in GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths. Functional Skills Level 2 Maths and English will also be considered. If you'd like to discuss the entry requirements further, please email our academic team on [email protected]. Thanks 😄

I think I'm in between Reflector and pragmatist. I would be very happy if you guide me to recognize my learning style. 1) I would like to see a youtube tutorial first (in which a chef making a meal in a kitchen). 2) Then I imagine the place where i will cook. I prefer to change the location and love to cook in a garden and on coal instead of stove. 3) Then i gather things and change some ingredients as per aura. 4) Then enjoy the process and meal.
@OpenStudyCollege
@OpenStudyCollege 5 ай бұрын
It definitely sounds like you're a textbook reflector, as you want to watch someone else (KZbin tutorial) first before you begin. However, during the actual learning process, you show signs of being a pragmatist learner, not wanting to stick to the recipe and changing things to suit your personal style. It sounds like you're a mix of the two! Often, people will be a mix of a couple of different styles. For you, you know that the first stages of your learning process involve absorbing and watching (reflector), but then when you get stuck in in the later learning phases, you are a pragmatist :)

@OpenStudyCollege
@OpenStudyCollege 7 ай бұрын
Hi, as we are a privately funded education provider, we don't receive any funding and therefore have to charge for our courses, taking into account our costs. Included in the price of our courses is an assigned personal tutor, providing expert support and feedback throughout the learner's studies. We hope you can see how this support is different to someone studying completely independently. We understand if someone wanted to collate all the information themselves and study solo, rather than through a company, this is completely valid! It would of course take more time to do this, rather than having all the materials and tutor support provided for you. We completely understand that purchasing a course is a big investment, it's not for everyone and we don't expect online studying to suit everyone and their needs. There are other funded options for learners to choose. Thanks

Hi there I wanted to ask if the ucas points adds both your AS and A level grades together or only your ALEVEL
@OpenStudyCollege
@OpenStudyCollege 7 ай бұрын
Hi! AS-Levels only contribute to your UCAS Point total score if you have not achieved an A-Level in the subject. In this case, the most recent qualification is the one that gains you UCAS Points. Universities and colleges will not generally count the Tariff points for an AS level qualification if you have completed an A level in the same subject. If you have only taken an AS Level in a subject then you would use the UCAS tariff points from these grades to go towards your total UCAS tariff points score. Hope that helps!

Hi do you have to sign to an a level course and get a tutor or can you just get the studying materials yourself and just book in for the exam.
@OpenStudyCollege
@OpenStudyCollege 8 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for your comment! You will be assigned a personal tutor as standard with the cost of your course. They are there to contact by email throughout your studies, and there are also tutor-marked assignments to submit throughout the course before your exams to ensure you're ready for them! You will get studying materials as standard too, either online or in a physical study pack format. It's up to you how much of the resources you utilise. In theory, you could use the study materials, not submit your assignments (they don't contribute to your final grade), and simply book in for your exams. The tutor-marked assignments throughout our A Level courses have been created to give learners the opportunity to practice exam style questions. They aren’t mandatory, but we do strongly suggest they are completed to set you up in the bets way for your exams. However, like we say, you can utilise whichever resources you wish to. If you have any questions, please let us know! Thanks

Hi, thanks for your comment! You can take A Levels in another country online, as you would simply study the materials in an online format to learn the content. However, with the exams you would have to find an accredited centre to sit your exams to earn the A Level qualification. You would have to do some research into whether there are any centres to sit A Level exams in your country, or it ay be likely that you would have to travel to the UK to sit your exams here. The exams do have to be sat in-person. @@YesYouCanHomeEducate Hi, thanks for your comment. We're more than happy to discuss anything that you want to know! With the Trustpilot reviews, we do prompt people in our marketing activity to leave a review after they've enrolled with us, which is why we tend to get lots right after they've spoken to one of our advisers. We do get a few through when learners have started studying, but this is something we could look at prompting more in our email marketing etc, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry you felt like you were getting a 'hard sell' immediately after enquiring by phone, our advisers are genuinely there to answer questions and try to find the best course for you and your goals, so we're sorry if this came across the wrong way. Regarding what happens if a student struggles with their course, we have an academic team on hand to help with tutors and any academic requirements for the learner, and we have a learner services team who deal with any struggles learners may be experiencing. We have a 14 day cancellation period, so if you receive your materials and decide it's not for you, you have 14 days from when you got your materials to cancel and get a full refund. You will be assigned a personal tutor with your course who are there to contact via email throughout your studies for any help and advice, and they will also mark and give feedback on assignments. Online learning ultimately comes with more independence and proactivity, so it is up to the student to get in touch with their tutors if they need help, and also up to them to ensure they're handing in assignments so they can receive thorough feedback. We understand there are some negative discussions about us on Reddit, we are aware of it and it's of course really disappointing to read. Our learner services team do work extremely hard to deal with any complaints and queries from students. On the other hand, we have so many amazing success stories from our learners which genuinely inspire us, and remind us of how online learning as a tool can be life-changing for some. We really hope that helps, and please feel free to ask us any more questions!
