This must have been filmed in 2021 or earlier, certainly before the 2022 bushfires that blackened much of the landscape but fortunately didn’t harm the railway.

Yes it was filmed in 2021 before the Bushfire came through. We are so so lucky that the railway didn't get touched by the fire.

Great footage mate, that Manly run is amazing, especially on the Queenscliff or Freshwater! Good choice choosing the iconic Freshwater class over the new Emeralds, they're much more spacious and better boats all around. This trip is best enjoyed when the swells are rolling through the heads at up to 5 or 6 metres! I've done this run many times (in one day my friends and I went to Manly and back 8 times for a swell) and these videos remind me how good it is.

The Sydney Metro trains are formally known as TS sets and set TS22 is equipped with track monitoring equipment to allow for inspection of the track without having to close the line

The section between Epping and Chatswood called the Epping to Chatswood Rail Link (ECRL) was previously run by the double decker Sydney Trains services until September 2019 until the ECRL was handed over to Sydney Metro to be converted to Sydney Metro

Did not the Ghan run out of Adelaide? A mate and I drove a Morris Mini from Melbourne to Adelaide then up to the Alice back in December of 1970. What an adventure. Some of the old Ghan track and roadbed were still in use I think but I cannot be sure of that these many years later. Great museum for sure.

@@heyimchrisau Where is Parklands Terminal? Did they not finish the line to Darwin some years ago and made it standard gauge? It seems to me the track I saw south of Alice was narrow gauge but that too is in the mists of time. Thanks for the reply.

@@heyimchrisau I just looked up a site of the Ghan from Adelaide to Darwin. We could not afford it let along getting back to OZ to even dream about doing something like that. In some ways I do miss Australia but a mate of mine in Victoria tells me that things are much different than when we lived there in the early 70s. Thanks again for the reply

It was narrow guage 3 ft 6 in. until about 1980 when it became standard guage. I believe Parklands is just outside the city. Only local metro trains go into the city.

@@heyimchrisau Thank you. We have another couple who lives in Adelaide but we have not heard from them in years. We knew them when we lived in Brisbane and after we left OZ they shifted to Adelaide.
