I had this done to my right leg one year and one year later, the same done to my left. They really weren't too painful, just listen to the doctors and use your crutches until they say your bone is fully healed. My doctor scared me into still using them, even when I knew it was strong enough to walk on. He told me that if I walked on it before it was fully healed, I could break the screws and they would have to redo it. I had complications with my left & they discovered an infection inside my knee 3 months after the surgery, so they had to operate two more times to remove the infection. I was on crutches for a long while but now I'm all healed & confident with my straight legs! Infections are rare and I was unlucky, but this surgery is very low risk and I really encourage anybody with knock knees to get this operation done.

Nancy 'O Brian is an amazing voice guide. It took me a lot to find her again. It is a shame the the editor of this video buchered her guided meditation. By making all of those abrupt cuts from 100% audio to 0% it makes it impossible to understand what she says before the big moment of relaxation. This video should be at least 10 minutes.

What is the pain level the week after the procedure. My doctor just told me he would give me oxy contin which seems awfully powerful for pain relief. Plus, addictive if on too long. Then he flip flopped and said I could try Tylenol first. My pain level is not bad but he said there is a sizeable tear.

After well over 40 years of regular swimming I've had several rotator cuff injuries which I'd say were due to front crawl, both shoulders, left knee issues and due to too much breast stroke, problems with my hips, and my ankles. This I believe is from kicking off too hard. Done a lot of fly too but no back problems with that, over all though, I think I'd be far worse off if I'd stuck to running, I'm now 66 and really quite bored with it, so sticking to dumbbell's and walking the dog . . . though I may return to it

Dear female Dr.s in this video. I don't expect you to help me personally. But i crashed my mtn bike at the beginning of covid. It took me two years to find out i did break my wrist. Its been five years now. Ive gained over 100lbs because i cant ride my bike, bench press or really work with any weights. I can hardly open doors ore use tv remotes. I am a broke uninsured photographer. Is there anyone or organization you cant point me to get help? Please? I cant keep living like this!

Just had this done.they gave me a nerve block hat could last 1-4 days. It lasted 1 day and I’m in excruciating pain. I’m told it does take about 4 days for the pain to come down. This is one of the hardest things I’ve had to go through

Trust me it is worth it, I had first leg done 8 month ago, and second 3 months ago and I am on a cain now. It isn’t that bad the recovery, you just need to be patient.
@SpiritoidАй бұрын
Make sure to go to physical therapy after you start weight bearing then you can transition to walking 1-2 months later.

Thanks I appreciate the advice. Pain is still bad but is soooo much better than day 2. Hangin in there.

@@marklee428Keep taking your pain meds, and just for your information my first leg I did 8 months ago is straight now, and the only pain is plates in the leg but I will have that removed very soon for both legs. So my advice to you is to get them out when your surgeon says it is ok, so your leg will go back to its natural state otherwise there will be discomfort sometimes even when you fully recover.

@@marklee428if you do not have an ice machine, get one, it helps reduce pain. And ice it at least once a day, but I recommend 2.

I have a 3-year-old girl who suffers from dislocated hip joints. Can you help me to recover from this problem? If you can, please do not be stingy with me. Thank you very much. You know the pain of this in the daily life of the afflicted person, but you do not know the psychology of the father and mother. Only God knows it.

Hello, anybody reading these comments. When u read mine, pls don't ever try to have this surgery, especially with any African orthopedic surgeon. I'm still struggling to recover from it since a yr ago. My entire leg to its bottom muscle has relaxed and depreciated virtually. My knee cant fold fully anymore, swallen nd severe knee pain as well, nd yet still limping. Pls, its better to keep ur healthy knock knees than to ruin ur own legs for vanity. Thank u.

Lucky are who succeeded in having this surgery. I had mine in Sept 2023, and regretted ever, I can't fold my leg to its close angle any more. I'm still limping and afraid I may become a physically challenge. The knee has swollen for over a year now, nd still pain severely when I don't take pain killers.

What does it mean by splitting the muscle and cutting the muscle with the posterior approach? I dont understand that... The Anterior approach as i understand theres no cutting of the leg muscles or "splitting" whatever that means? id really like to know because im getting my right hip replaced and i dont want posterior approach because of the muscles being cut? split? can you please explain this to me as i really need to make my decision on which way to go with my hip replacement... thank you... 10/17/2024. my replacement will be in early December 2024

I got my injury from football. I had almost daily stingers in practice and games. My arm finally gave out after a big hit. It was completely traumatic. I couldn’t move my right arm at all for 2 weeks. 10 years later and I’m still not 100% but I am so grateful for what function I do have. Stingers need to be taken more seriously in football

Why does the patient have to wear a sling for 6 weeks after surgery? Geez. All muscles will atrophy in that time.

This is absolutely amazing. Haven't been able to use my dominant hand since I was fifteen. Saw Orthopedics on Friday and my surgeon is going to multiple things, including tendon transfer to be able to maintain hygiene and some use. Can't wait!!! I have to have regional and general anasthesia. I asked about regional and mild sedation, but my surgeon said no. Probably because of my mild spasms. Who knows.
