If you have remnants of an older version installed it can do that, so try permanently removing everything and install again, and make sure it's the latest version. Also I'd install it in your files somewhere not on the desktop or anywhere which has cloud storage linked to it. Hope that helps!

LNT models are not based on mechanisms and tell you nothing about normal doses. Without mechanisms, all these discussions are nonsense when dealing with complex multi-factor conditions, where the number of factors is very large, and just excluding one relevant factor from an analysis makes the results both false and junk science.

Is there any material you have that can help me preparing for boards, other then your videos. Material such as book or notes or study guide for boards
@SahandHooshmandАй бұрын
What's going to be covered in your board exam? If it's more physics and radiobiology related, I recommend the textbook 'Radiation Protection in Diagnostic X-Ray Imaging'. It's co-authored by my PhD supervisor Prof. Patrick Brennan

Adding 15% to 100 kvp is 115 Then adding 15% to 50 kvp is not 65. Why ? When and by which number do we multiply 1.15
@SahandHooshmandАй бұрын
Because 15% of 50 is 7.5 (50*0.15) so it'd be 57.5 kVp. You always multiply the original kVp by 1.15 to 'add 15%'

How would you alter the kvp and mAs for these bone conditions
@SahandHooshmandАй бұрын
Reduce both for osteoporosis (about 5-10 kVp depending on severity, and about 20-30% of mAs). And the other way around for osteopetrosis (again depending on severity)
@jarvisjones9163Ай бұрын
@ Thanks for your reply, so an increase of 5-10kvp for osteopetrosis and 30% increase in mAs?
@SahandHooshmandАй бұрын
@@jarvisjones9163 generally something like that, now usually these days digital systems encourage you to mainly just change the mAs and keep the kVp the same (and if you need to change it to rely on the 'person size' selector). But if doing manually, increasing both makes more sense.

That’s correct, elbow is next 😄 With regards to fixing positioning I’d have to properly do that in another video as the next one is just on critique/interpretation

Remember: 1) the focusing cup is made of molybdenum because it's not a thermionic bubbler and is negatively charged to ping pong electrons antegrade to the anode 2) rhenium is added to the anode to help it dissipate heat and not crack 3) 1 mGy is 0.1 rad (1 Gy = 100 rad).

Thanks for the video, really concise and to the point. Good explanations as well. I am really confused with how to tell apart a spiral and oblique fracture though, as they look quite similar. Could you make a separate video on that specifically, or can you just explain it to me in a reply? Thank you again!
@SahandHooshmand3 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it :) with regards to your question, you're right they do look quite similar, and in fact in cases where it's not that severe you can mix them up easily. It's a balance of looking at all the 2 main projections (3 if it's available) and making a judgement based on whether the 'ends' of the fracture are 'spiralling' from their centre or they're linear; but linear in a slanted manner if that makes sense. So generally if you see a larger separation between the edges of the fracture towards the ends, then that's suggesting a spiral, but if the edges are mostly superimposed and it's just slanted (aka not just a flat horizontal line fracture), then it's classified as an oblique. Hope that helps!

CORRECTION to formula: the (1 - cos (theta)) should be at the numerator (top). Apologies for any confusion.
