Do these tires say DOT approved on the sidewalls? Is there anything else on the side wall that says "Off Road Use Only"? I'm looking for a DOT approved tire to run on public roads and am considering this one. Thx.

I took the front one off and left the back one on. Seems like it is a less bumpy ride with the front off. Not to mention the articulation helps with a smoother ride when crawling over stuff. I’m leaving the front one off. I like the way it drives.

I’m thinking about greeting the same MSA vibe wheel how do you like them and how’s the dark tint coating holding up? J really wanted to go with a 15” wheel with 33” tires but they don’t make that wheel in a 15.
@azsxsproject
@azsxsproject 2 жыл бұрын
I actually don’t have those wheels anymore. I bought them before I understood about wheel offsets. They were a 0 offset which is one step past a 4+3. Too much steering feedback. I can’t speak for the durability of the coating but I did like the design. I am now running a method 409 wheel with bead grip at a 5+2. Wheels are super light and I can run low tire pressure without the need for heavy bead lock wheels.
@maxpolk9069
@maxpolk9069 2 жыл бұрын
@@azsxsproject yes I actually seen those on a newer video I really like the beef grip design but I don’t like any of the colors I’m looking for more of the brushed aluminum look like the vibe has but there’s not a lot of wheels with that look that will work. They saying it’s a 4+3 on the sight but a zero offset you would think would be a 3.5x3.5. I am a little concerned that will be a little much but my stock wheel is a 5+2 and since I’m raising it about 3” I wanted to add a little width. I really want a 15” wheel but the vibe wheel don’t have that option.
@azsxsproject
@azsxsproject 2 жыл бұрын
That’s a tough one. Yeah raising it three inches will make you a bit tippy but going wider will definitely wear out your steering and suspension parts. Right before I changed tires and wheel offsets my rear axles were starting to click from the increased width and rear being a locked axle. Since moving back to 5+2 I have had zero issues. Not to mention I took Shock Therapy’s advice and went with a rounded tire instead of the popular square tire. I lost a bit of planted feel for more of a controlled slide but I have also had zero issues with tires and I recently went on a trip to the desert and put 200 hard fast miles on it through some jagged rough terrain.

Thanks for the comment. I would agree that all of them on feels better. Stock setup though did experience a better ride quality with front off and front shocks at 2 and rear at 1. Don’t remember what the preload was but with stock springs it road way better.

@azsxsproject
@azsxsproject 3 жыл бұрын
Correct if your concerned about body roll or rollover I would leave them connected. It’s personal preference though. I found that stock setup with front off and front shock on 2 and back on 1 was pretty decent to handle everything. With aftermarket suspension or upgrades the ride flexes way more to the point I don’t really even notice the bar connected. You may experience an occasional 3 wheel but it rides great.
