Sorry to be a critic but I think it is beneficial in this case...Certain critical details of the antenna installation may have been skipped. There is no detail on connecting the mast amplifier. No detail on applying a compression F connector to the cable, No mention of the amplifier type, nor the CM amplifier choices and a bit more detail of how to connect the amplifier. Adding some of those details may help the viewers install the antenna by themselves.

I mounted this antena vertically and the reception improved very good. More channels on FM.

Aren't you supposed to ground the antenna?

So how do you hook up to television

For this type of installation, the antenna signal ends up being hardwired to the coaxial cable outputs in the home. Simply connect a coaxial cable from the output port on your wall to the coaxial input port behind your television. Lastly, scan for over-the-air channels on your television via the "channels" option in the settings menu.

Just installed this with my antennas direct 8 bay bi directional antenna with the included uhf 2way signal combiner. On the lower gain setting i pulled in 57 channels on the high gain setting i pulled in 3 more channels that weren't of much use. 80% of the towers im pointed at are approx 70 miles away and largely accross water. In winter it will be even better. If anything the preamp 1 largely strengthened what i already had. For me and this set up it was well worth the money and built like a tank with quality components 🍻 📶📶🤟🤟

The thing that I see wrong here is that it has a 300 ohm to 75 ohm balanced to unbalanced balun. But the impedance at center of a dipole is around 75 ohms. There is no need for that balun.

Isn't there a need for grounding the antenna and mast?

Most definitely need a ground. They might be ground to the electric coming into the house being so close to the main coming in but they didn't say a thing about it.

What is the best way to ground if you're not running into the box on the side of the house?

You flew right past a couple of things: -- The channel master app needs a working compass in your phone. You can get a compass from a store and use the web site. -- The box on the mast below the actual antenna was not mentioned early on. It is likely an amplifier. This is good if you are splitting the signal later. Antennas with built in amplifiers are generally not nearly as good as an antenna and the amplifier as two items. -- When looking at where the towers are, also look to see what stations. You may pick the one that is 40 miles away over the one that is 35 miles away if it has stations you really want. -- Higher is generally better for the antenna. -- Channel master also makes rotors if you have towers in many directions, consider that. If there are two directions only, then two antennas may be a better option. They can live one above the other by a few feet. There are options for what to do with the signals from them. (A) a cable A/B switch works best but you have to toggle it manually. A "splitter" can work as a combiner to combine antennas but you do lose some signal when you do this. -- If you are going to split the signal to a lot of TVs, you may want an amplifier or amplifying splitter. --when you run down the wall, run down below the entry and then loop up to the entry. Rain water running down won't make the turn. --Indoors: If you are still using a stone age coal fired analog TV,, you can find converter boxes for about $40 --Indoors: Read the manual on how to get the TV to scan. Note: I am getting 127 channels over the air. Of them perhaps 10 are worth the bother to watch. It is a little like with cable. Most channels are junk.
