why is it no motor is made to hold a even quart of oil? they do not even hold a even metric amount of oil.

please post before you go were you will be camping at. as running a generator at night will get many people mad at you. and kicked out of camp grounds. i boon dock, i do not like the heat. but the rules are for everybody. no noise after 8:pm. no noise before 7:am.

I have the same unit. I installed a conversion kit to run it on gas or propane. I lose a little power on propane but i can run it either way. It runs great.

What size a/c do you have?

It looks like you removed the carbon filter, that's a good thing, don't forget to put a cap over the nipple on the airbox, the air bypasses the filter and goes right into the carburetor. Also, when I did mine, I took the hose that comes from the top of the gas tank, and I drilled a hole in the bottom and ran the hose out the bottom of the unit make the hole slightly smaller so the hose fits tight, I also put a fuel shut off in the vent tube where I can get at it through the Oil door so I can keep the air sealed when I'm not running it. When I open the fuel shut off valve it vents the tank.

New subscriber. Great video. My issue is just the opposite of yours. Mine surges at idle and runs great under load. Would you suggest cleaning the jet would resolve my issue as well?

I picked one up from a guy that had it listed on marketplace for $50. Said it just quit running. I got it home gave it a few pulls and it fired off for about 10 sec and died. It came with a new spark plug and air filter installed and all I did was replace a gasket and clean the fuel system. Runs great now.

I have been struggling with this for over a year. I've cleaned the carb jet a dozen times and to no avail. Watched your video and it's running smooth. Ty sir. A brother in blue had my back! Edit: After setting idle, it spit for a few minutes but eventually came around. I watched the video earlier this year and even comment it was a carb cleaning. I was absolutely wrong. Also if you don't get the screw just right it'll run rich. Make sure to count the screw in turns. That'll help you get back to where the idle should be set.

Can anyone tell me if this will help the surching that makes it stall out? If this little piece is cleaned will it stop doing that surging and stalling? And my eco switch when pressed does nothing ..what dies that mean? The electric start does not work as well ok plmk if anyone can help ..thx

If you haven't found it already, mine was leaking right down the wire coming from the low oil shut down sensor in the block very subtle,, but it leaks down that wire and it actually filled up the spark ignition module. It's behind the opposite side cover. Hope this helps.

Gotta hand it to Harbor Freight. They are active in fixing issues and offering incredible value. The Predator 5000 is a really slick generator. During this recent storm Milton, they sold out of all of them at my local store. I picked up one but am trying to decide if I will keep it. I have been wanting one for a while. Picked up a magnetic oil plug and will likely get an NGK spark plug. Do the break in period and all that. It's a nice unit.

Great video, thanks ! First one that showed up when I googled predator 3500 surging. I let mine sit with ethanol gas in it for about a year and when I started it surging was terrible. It didn't shut down but it was very annoying. I just put up with it, then Helene hit last Friday. We used it like it was for 4 days and power is still out. This morning 10/1/24, I shut it down and cleaned the orifice with a needle as suggested. Since it's really easy to do I went ahead and pulled the carb and checked all of the jets. They were clear but a tiny bit of varnish on them. I used a torch tip cleaner to clean as much as I could. Put it all back together and it works great! I probably didn't need to do the whole carb but I couldn't help myself. The small black orifice is tiny. When poking the needle through you can see the tip come through. Be careful because you wouldn't want it to break off in there. The idle adjust screw just provides a stop for the electronic throttle control so it doesn't do anything with fuel flow through the carb. It is a pain to get it back in without cross threading, but it's doable. They are saying power will be back on on October 3rd but I'm not holding out hopes for that. I've never seen such a devastating storm here in upstate SC. In the meantime, the Predator is running great! Thanks again!

Wow this just happened to my 2020 jeep gladiator I was driving for a while and it’s been spraying everywhere so I can’t find the leak but I just bought a new coolant reservoir I hope this fix the problem.

We've used ours quite a bit and haven't had any issues so far, I think they actually did fix the issue but it sucks you had to deal with that.

where did you order the replacement part from? Orielly said it was a special order and couldn't get it....* saw the price $67; but they wouldn't order it.

my 2020 just broke at the same spot... at 220,000 miles though; maybe to be expected; Its my first issue... other than the damn aux battery; both of which just started fing up

FYI this model's CO² sensor is super sensitive and a breeze can blow the exhaust into the sensor and it'll shut off.

Here I thought it was going to be the co sensor 😂

Hi quick question mine was acting like one side was freezing ok but the biger buckets was defrosting all my food no matter what - C or +F you set it on then I turned it off for just all day ,then turn it back on I see a Warning 02 sign on that little screen saying Short circuit and can’t even set on stay solid warning 02 sign any idea what’s wrong with it ?
