from north Belfast living with my granny who went to Bingo when the show was on, it is hard to watch these days without a tear in my eye. It will live with me until I die.

Often his acting ability was criticised, but this shows beyond doubt he just needed material at a high standard, and david renwick provided it.

Bob Monkhouse was incredibly talented! His film appearances were too few.

Can’t believe I’ve finally found this. I watched it at aged three and all I could remember was the lad pulling his scarf and disappearing. Searched for years and only found this by chance! 😅🎉🎉🎉

I was wrong its actually not a bad sitcom, the characters are good, and Norman beaton is excellent and actually prevents Lenny Henry from making it his own show,it touches on black peoples problems but not in any great depth, it's well worth a watch 👍, Desmond's is a better sitcom i could watch that All day 👍👍👍
