2024年8月。トレイルを趣味友達とする為に重茂半島を訪ねて、県道から本州最東端にある魹ヶ崎灯台への、入口にあるキャンプ場へ向かう途中に、石碑が有りました。津波到達地点を示す標柱でした。後世に伝え、新たな犠牲者を出すまいとの意味だと知り、既に我々も、その対象者の一人なのだと肝に銘じ油断する事無く行動をしなければと再確認した次第です。重茂半島の各漁港を巡り形の上では港の機能も復興された様子を拝見しましたが、その地で暮らす方々の復興への苦労と強い漁業への思いに、県道を走りあっちこっちにある水産関係の施設で働く人々を見て共感すると同時に、そのたくましさに驚嘆しました。また、日々の暮らしの中で、海の環境を守る為に、合成洗剤の使用を控える様に呼び掛ける、啓蒙看板を至る所で視ました。其に比べて、私達の日常生活の環境への取り組みの現状を考え振り返って見ると重茂半島で暮らす方々と比べたら、未々、不十分だと自覚した次第です。重茂半島のトレイルの途中の山道から眼下に見える美しい、リアスの海と各漁港の風景を眺めながら、道路も整備去れてない時代に歩いた先人達に思いを馳せて、この石に腰掛けて休み、此処の沢で水分補給をして休憩したんだろう、なんて皆で想像しながら楽しくトレイルをさせて頂きました。当日に山道への入口を教えて下さった地元の方に感謝とお礼を申し上げます。本当に有り難うございました
