In the spring of 1982, Jeff Sauer was my golf coach at CC. A year later he's being interviewed as the NCAA Division 1 ice hockey winning coach at Wisconsin. Great guy. RIP.

gwwhinwi, Thanks for this great video! Wondering if you happen to have the 1981 title game? (Wisconsin vs Gophers) I've been able to locate 1975, '78, '80, '82, '83, '84 and most of the 90's & 2000's title games, but 1981 & 1979 are holes I'm trying to fill for historical preservation at UW & U of M. Thanks for your help!

Hey there, I haven't been able to track down '81. I knew a few people on the USCHO forums that had them, but they would only do them as a trade situation and wouldn't upload them online. The one game that I'm still dying to see again is the 3 OT game between UW and UND from the WCHA semifinals in the 1982-83 season. If you can ever track that one down, please let me know.

@@glenh1664 Thanks for the info & update! If I come across either of these items, I will be sure to let you know. The NCAA used to sell DVD's of classic tournament games in various sports. The disc they have for 1981 is the "highlights" recap video from the Frozen Four. Thanks for uploading the semi's!

10:20 Chelios was not born and did not grow up in San Diego. He was born and raised on the south side of Chicago and played youth hockey for the St. Jude Knights. I know this because while he played on the A team and I played on their B team. I'm still playing hockey at 59 and still suck, HA HA!

Too small to support two winter pro teamsa. If the Bucks didn't exist, Milwaukee would have NHL. Same reason why Cleveland doesn't have NHL and Pittsburgh and St Louis don't have NBA.

@@brandonstrupp3889 It’s not enough when most of the rest of the state is 2 hours plus away from Milwaukee and wouldn’t go often to school/work night NHL games against the Devils, Stars, Senators, Ducks, etc. This is the same reason why Regina and Saskatoon don’t have NHL, not big enough and dense enough population to justify having the NHL there, plus teams are relatively close by

Of all six of UW's national championship wins, this game was the Badgers' most dominant. It was a game for about 90 seconds. You might say UW just brushed off Colgate.
