Only gripe I have is that the story was predictable and hypocritical, even the moose transformation was expected (figured he would become the creature he killed). Also, it is frustrating how often forest spirits are so commonly casted as the most annoying hypocrites. She *severely* punishes the human hunter for killing the moose, but I doubt very much that she would knock the teeth out of a wolf when it kills a rabbit or when a hawk eats a mouse. Just comes off as very pearl clutch-y to say "hunting in the woods is ok for every animal except humans." Are human hunters no longer part of the natural world because they are smart about it and use tools? What else is a village in the early 11th century expected to eat? Feels incredibly cliché and makes it hard to side with the spirit and her huntress girlfriend when they essentially killed an innocent (father?) man and the village is rightfully pissed about it. Outside of that, the quality of the animation was good and the music was nice to listen to. Cool project.

Wolves also hunt and i dont think she punishes them. Just hunting is not a great argument to end the life of someone but if she is so against it she could try to talk instead of throwing curses. She even stoped the redhead from preventing the hunt. Makes no sense.

Yeah but like... They need to eat meat it does not look like they farm in this village. So like we have basically a wannabe Warden of the forest that punishes those who hunt? So does he also turns wolfs into plants because they hunt? And unless these folks are poachers I do not think they are doing anything wrong. In fact most hunters rely on nature for their survival respect the forest, its animals, and often serves as their "God/Sprit/Protector" or whatever you wanna call it. If we look at communities that hunt to provide for themselves often dedicate the kill to nature for giving them the good hunt to feed themselves they do not disrespect it. They would NEVER overhunt unless it is desperate and those who do often are punished. And it seems that this village RELIES on the hunting to keep the whole village fed and have a trade good to buy stuff they can't get i.e antlers/bones/leather for medicine/tools/plantstuffs. It also looks like they hunted multiple animals at once and are also preserving the meat on the houses so that means they rely on these hunts to get by the winter. I mean their cloths are made of leather so what they will go naked in winter? And this seems to be a pretty large settlement so It kind a makes sense they killed many at once and then process them all at the same time. I mean by the end of the video the whole village looks like they are on the verge of a collapse with all the red lighting and missing people posters. That is A LOT of dead people and yeah if your dad who was keeping you and your family alive gets turned into a fucking moose I would be pissed off too. If the village does become abandoned there is a very high chance someone else will come to burn it all down to clear the land for new development. A better conflict of interest I think would be that they fucking burn the whole forest to turn it into farmland. The hunters are out of a forest to hunt and the whole ecosystem is fucked. That would be I much more interesting clash of conflict as farming would provide more food/wealth but destroy the forest and the connection humans have with the forest. At the same time it shows how humans are damaging the ecosystem and would give the "Warden of the forest" a pretty solid and valid reason why she would take such extreme measures as the forest is being destroyed. But with this it feels like the "Warden of the forest" is just killing people because "Muh forest muh rules" with a side of lesbians love. With the "Heroic hunter" giving up her job which is to keep nature in check by preventing overpopulation of herbivores and providing for her and her family. To instead by the end of the story to say "Screw yall I am going to live with the person who killed my family/community in the middle of the forest" considering these types of villages tend to have very tight-nit community that is one hell of a gaslighting operation.

This film made me angry. Clearly, animal lives are worth less than humans’, so why is it that the hunter, clearly hunting for food was killed? So many things in this video that are so frustrating to me.

I can’t see the forest person with the mask as the good guy. Cuz humans need to survive just as much as other animals and others who may say that humans might be poaching. The forest person doesn’t even check or care, to her it’s kill on sight
