Its crazy how it was such a vibe people dancing raveing haveing the time of their lifes then a few years later its being demolished

Massive fubar by not developing Billinge hosi site to a sizeable site that would have been on a par with Whiston. Instead its all been crammed onto the RAEI site that you cant get near!

Will never forget my trips to Wigan pier coming from barrow in furness on coach or mini bus even cars

Don’t know if I’ve already commented on this, cba scrolling back. I only ever managed to go here once, absolutely criminal looking back. Summer 92, not even sure who was on, Malc definitely, possibly Lee Garry. It was a great night and I wish I’d have followed it up with more nights, sadly it wasn’t to be. The music went really bad, all that Donk nonsense and Scouse House, not my bag that shite. I remember stumbling across the chill out room up in the gods and the hi-viz clad lads that turned out to be the go to folk for your Gary’s! It’s true what they say- you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone!

I get chills down my spine watching this and i cry ,so happy to hsve been a part of this amazing club for 2 years,every friday night ,a mini bus full of us from rhyl ,the whole club was in love. I so miss those days. Im so happy to have bern a part of it and i may have met many of you that are commenting ,thankyou fir being part of my life for a few beautiful years. I wish you all happiness and peace forever 🥰♥️✌️🥺🥺🥺. X

wigan pier was owned by Eckersley Mill and used a stables for horses so this is a stable club

Watching this back makes me so sad, even 10 years later. It was a fantastic club and it's so missed just like Maximes. Both clubs gone. Kids these days don't know what they missed. Best night out ever especially at the Pier.

Just the place being empty is sad to me, same as monroes you can not replicate these place ever

Hello 👋 Were you the light or sound technician for the Pier please mate? given the footage here. I’m not prying I only ask as im curious to know more about the big base speakers on the right hand side of the of the dance floor as seen here. I remember all too well having to wait for a space to sit within that speaker to become free as it only accommodated two people at a time. The thing was this though..You never had a long wait to sit in because the sheer volume of the bass sent ya wild 😛 Who built that baby I wonder 💭 Happy days 💃
