I use the front brake on down hills more than the rear. I did trials to get better on the dirt bike and you learn to use and trust the front brake. But you can’t lean back or bias weight to the rear as you’ll lose the front end as there is no pressure there with no weight. You have to commit to pushing your weight through the front end and through that front tyre. Great vid too.

Thanks for the feedback! I have thought many times about getting on a trials bike just for the experience. I think my problem is exactly that, I lean back too far and dont put enough trust in the front, ironic that exactly this is what causes the front to wash lol. This particular track isnt too bad, but a lot of what we ride down here are seriously off-camber downhills, easy to come unstuck with the front brake, catches me out quite a bit.

@@RoostGumps trials is a great way to improve your enduro skills. It taught me traction, body weight, balance and most importantly, clutch control. I was lucky enough here in Perth to get along to a few of Neil Price’s coaching clinics when i was doing trails. Unfortunately, i wasn’t scared of doing some of the harder stuff and i don’t bounce like i used to. It was starting to hurt a lot.

@@Ridersofthelostpath yeh i could certainly do with help with all of the above lol. I’m not scared of the harder stuff, I’m probably a bit too keen for my skill set tbh. One way to learn though…

Great video. There's a reason there is a thermostat in the bike, that's to hold the water around the head until the barrel gets some heat into it, Why?... so you don't get a cold seizure. Ask me how I know!! KTM and other brands could save a lot of money by deleting it...but the dont. !! And i Had all those sensor probs with my 300, went through 5 of them in 18 months !!

Great tracks, I went form a KTM to a GG, the front-end issue is tyres or suspension set up, once their set up, the husky and GG are better imho.

@@lindsaysmith-white1298 on Saturday there was 39 of us out for a ride, is that what you saw? I was leading the majority of the ride. We ran into another group of 9 that day and were told of another group of 4. Ive ridden this area at least 2-3 times a week for the past 5 months and never see a soul, Saturday was definitely an anomaly. All these trails you see are because of two blokes, one thats a local. Very thankful for all their work. Even for the ride sunday we did a collective 50+ hrs of clearing lantana and vines between 4 of us willing to put in the work the week leading up to the weekend. Ill never publicly give out the location of this riding. If you know, you know. Otherwise its all hush hush. If you can link me to other youtube vids of the area im keen as to watch! Just a thought not trying to tell you how to do things but my thinking I would have the factory fan the main fan to have run on your switch and use the extra fan to run of thermo switch operating my thoughts is that the manufacturer located there for a reason obviously most efficient location straight from water pump ? faster you cool it less heat soak/transfer of heat to radiators there for less heat return to engine
@RoostGumps
@RoostGumps 7 ай бұрын
Yeh you are probably right, being closer to the water pump it likely favors that radiator over the left one. Would just require more wiring work to set it up that way. Definitely something we could look at if we found this setup not to work as we had hoped. From our one ride so far we have found it to be quite good. Will do some more testing before we review though.

The KYB sss suspension is 100x better than anything WP has ever put out. After the KTM I might just end up on Beta or Sherco simply for the KYB. If we were doing more generic offroading and more MX type stuff I would rather the WR, but for this kind of tighter riding the 300 is worlds away.
