My business is very small, mobile knife sharpening. I am looking to expand to Beautician Shears. But some major machine upgrade and training is needed. I don't know what grant would give me any grants for a business like this. Or if there is a better grant system to use. I hope I don't miss your reply to this question.
@grantchatter5 сағат бұрын
I found scholarships for machine shop assistants and barber school, but not for sharpening. But there is a KZbin channel dedicated to sharpening shears. I wonder if they have information. www.youtube.com/@BonikaShears

Can the U. S. Government give financial assistance to people in other countries? Maybe amounts like $1,500.
@grantchatter6 сағат бұрын
The US government doesn't usually give money directly to people outside the United States. It gives to nonprofits or other governments to pay for services, or to distribute dollars.

Do you know of any grants for a garden center?
@grantchatter2 күн бұрын
Thanks for the question! My first thought is a business development program from a national garden retailers association (or its state/regional chapters). Maybe the major brands you sell have a similar program. Otherwise, locally, networking with business development groups might result in an opportunity. If you are a woman-owned business, see if your local Small Business Development Center or state workforce development agency has something.

Thanks for this video! However, I can't get past creating the Walmart account relating to my work because they want a cell number, not a desk number. My cell number is already in use. Any suggestions?? Thanks!
@grantchatter4 күн бұрын
Isn't this a strange system?! If no one in your organization has an available cell number, I would contact the SparkGood help system. The FAQ page includes ways to contact them, walmart dot org/how-we-give/faqs

It is strange, seems to be a flaw with the verifier. We all have cell phones, but they say already registered. I’ve emailed Join Deed, hopefully they can assist. Appreciate your video and thanks for responding!

What is the easy way to get grants for making room on top of the garage as low income family
@grantchatter4 күн бұрын
I think you might be able to find local resources by checking the findhelp.org website. It's not grants, but a database that you can use to find help, based on your zip code. It's free to use. And this isn't an ad. I'm just impressed with how much is listed with them.

The Amber Grant is a scam. I completed the application earlier this year, in the manner described , told my authentic story , paid the fee and never heard anything from them.

I did the same. Never heard anything
@grantchatter14 күн бұрын
Honestly, just because an application is submitted doesn't mean that a grant is awarded. So I don't think it's a scam (if you watched the video, you saw my frustration with having to pay a fee). And there are plenty of grant funders that never respond to all the applicants, unfortunately.

@grantchatter14 күн бұрын
I don't know the particulars of the grant you've mentioned, but hopefully there are instructions with the block grant. The instructions will likely spell out which questions to answer, and perhaps some documents that must also be submitted with the application. My biggest advice is to follow those instructions the best that you can; many people don't follow instructions well, and therefore don't receive the support. I hope that helps a little.

Are there grants for trades?
@grantchatter15 күн бұрын
Sure! Look in the description below this Education Grants video, for the U.S. Department of Labor Scholarship List. At that website, search for "trades". I just did that, and 300 results came up. You'll have to spend some time to read carefully for the ones that actually work for you. They won't all work.

@grantchatter18 күн бұрын
Good question. I ran an extensive google search ("grants for startups in Yemen"), and the results were mostly about alleviating hunger or diplomatic programs. So nothing really stood out as an obvious result. I wonder if you could conduct a search like that, and maybe you would have better results than my US-based search?

Thanks for the list. I'm in the process of starting a nonprofit based here in USA but with the mission to prevent animal cruelty internationally. Any suggestions/guidance is appreciated.
@grantchatter18 күн бұрын
Get connected in the local community of nonprofits that prevent animal cruelty (free search at guidestar dot org by zip code and nonprofit type - this isn't a promotion; I just use it lot). Read their annual reports (and/or follow them on social media) to see which funders in the area support them. I assume there is a professional development organization for animal care/anti-cruelty organizations and their staff. That's a great place to network and see how your nonprofit can be positioned to grow and perhaps fill in a void.

Mental health?

It depends. Fed dollars might go to states, which then award grants to organizations that can deliver specific mental health care results. For personal mental health needs, there is benefits.gov. Or find help.org, which is not just government services.

How do you discern between one’s that are low cost, just outright assistance/free, and what is actually a loan or signing away rights to the home as another commenter said on your other video? Thanks Tiffany! -Lexi
@grantchatterАй бұрын
Great question! And wasn't that a sad situation the commenter had? I remember that very well. It was my aim in this video to list resources that are legitimate. But of course, the one seeking the support needs to read all details carefully and understand what they're responsible for. For example, I currently work for a nonprofit that provides free and low-cost services, so long as those who sign up follow our requirements of attendance and participation (which we try to support best as we can).

Thank you for your prompt response! What is the website for the company you work for? Also, any resources for churches? Our church in FL is in need of a new roof and other building repairs post-hurricane, but unfortunately so many non-profit grants exclude religious institutions which is ironic to me.

Our non-profit is a technology based org that is working to apply technology to the issues around human-trafficking, and child protection (both physical and making online experience safe for children) as well as working to make sure AI is safe ... we are small, we have three registered locations, Delaware, South Carolina and Florida, but our overall direction is global (we hope) in nature. do you have any suggestions on how to apply for localized community grants to help apply to these issues?
@grantchatterАй бұрын
My first three ideas: (1) Contact your local community foundation, which might be holding donor advised funds (the grants I discuss in this video) that might have interest in your work. Links to find community foundations are in the description below the video. (2) Network with tech/child safety professional associations in each state, to meet people working in your space, and who might have connections to funding sources. (3) Would the nearest police or homeland security agencies in each state have human trafficking or internet security programs that you could be part of, or maybe support with funds? I recall years ago learning of a domestic violence shelter that also housed the DV unit of the local police department. Some kind of innovative approach like that would get your npo noticed. All the best for success!
