Coming back a year or so later, no longer in my FNAF hyperfixation, I can say I have developed a nicer understanding of the song. And looord is it not as complicated as I used to think it was. The chords are very longing, which is something I did get right, but the reason was what I got wrong. These Funtime Animatronics are, in line with the story, looking for a way out of their current obligations. The droning, falling chords around the climax are adding on to the idea that they **need** to leave, and they are never going to stop trying. They are begging you, taunting you, threatening you, enticing you, anything it will take to distract you or make you collude so they can kill you and steal your skin. This place is frozen in time because, being a rental service, Afton doesn't do a lot of business or cleaning at home base, and as the animatronic maintenance intern you are, it isn't your job to keep the place clean. And if the Funtime animatronics aren't getting rented often, then they are just left to sit in dirty, dusty, dark storage rooms. Even if they are getting rented often, it's still a perpetual slog. Always going to kids' parties and going through the motions, then going back to the storage room with no unwinding. Waiting, growing more and more annoyed and desperate. Imagine if you were on permanent house arrest with zero form of entertainment aside from going to work, you'd probably go insane.

This is my favorite fnaf track in the whole series and I’m not even sure why. The feel, mysteriousness, and nostalgia feel for this track is so great.

Even though we don't see the action of the evac site happening we do get to see the fresh aftermath. It goes to show how panicked that Ceda was that there maintaining control of the infection was pretty much obsolete at this point given how far it spread. The military did have some level of control by instruction survivors to take action and arm themselves yet they also slightly struggled to directly combat the carriers since they're was so many of them at once. Sure neutralizing them worked with the help of survivors but it also got extremely worse when the so called carriers armed themselves too and retailated. Heck, even their own men retailated too causing so much in fighting and noise it must've contacted the infected from miles away making them reach in without effort given the chaotic situation. Which really shows how the perish horde theme must've played out before the survivors arrived as a inconsistent mess of music that was rushed and panicked. Representing the chaos that went on in New Orleans of the civilian/carriers,Ceda,the military and the infected went through.
