I visited Brenham. A very nice town. We toured the Blue Bell factory and they gave us free samples. I got my sons vanilla and mint chocolate chip. I got Rocky Road. When you go to Brenham I think it's a city law that you have to consume some Blue Bell!

Leesville sux. The FORD company will screw you. I got a car and drove it to Georgia and then the engine had trouble. It would cost me $600.00 to fix. and since the car was only 4 months old. So the Ford Company in Georgia called Leessville Ford and they told Georgia that they are not going to pay for the car. I am glad that I never went back to Leesville.

Graham Park is about 8-10 blocks from the downtown area heading north towards the Peniel area. The park is still there, but the zoo is long gone.

I love the old Louisiana towns. Many of them have old movie theaters, and there are still many old plantation style homes, like in Minden, LA. My family (the LEE family) started a little town in northwest LA named Leesville. Then they learned there was already a Leesville, LA, so they changed their town name to Leton, LA. My LEE family still occupies that town. ;)

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

Funny...my husband and I moved from Wisconsin to Kentucky, and planned to use or downsized home as a home base to do what you and your wife are now doing. But then came the "you know what", and for now, those plans have been sidelined. So, in the meantime, I'll enjoy living vicariously through you two, until we can get out there on the open road. We were there last year the last week in December 2022 and loved it. We were house shopping but couldn't get pre approved at the time. Maybe next year hopefully but it is all open. At night it gets real dark cause of no street lights.
