I believe the reason why Mughal Empire declared war was because it's previous allies were war with you, those being Great Britain and Portugal/Spain. TW Empire Faction A.I's have tendencies to either join wars or declare wars if they have standing alliances with other factions, even though declaration of war poses no merits to them or/and you yourself had very good relations with them. In my Knights of St. John campaign I was constantly harassed by Great Britain who has like dozens of alliances and when they declared war more than half decided to jump in the bang-wagon of *Let's fuck up KoSJ already minuscule trading and navy while Ottoman's keeps sending their hordes of Janissary to small island of Malta.*

One question, what settings are you using? Do you have troubles with crashes? Tried everything from their discord wont help... Having problems with crashing after 30-40 rounds, when i load the last saved round it crashes again. Happened only after installing their updates

In the Empire folder I activated the Large Address Aware for Empire.exe. In my preferences script in Empire, I also have video memory set to -1 and threads set to match the amount of my cpu threads, so mine is 16. Can be found in Task Manager under the Performance tab and by clicking CPU. Multithread enabled is set to true in the preferences script as well. All my settings are ultra in ETW. Haven't had any crashes with ETW2.

If crashing persists, I suggest deleting everything in the main Empire Total War folders and doing a verify game files on Steam to reinstall them. Then launch and be sure vanilla works. Then reinstall the mod from the installer and download the rolling patch updates data folder and replace all items in Empire/Data with the patches. Should help everything work
That's very bizarre. Are you using the 4.4 full installer from Moddb? And then using all the rolling updates from the discord? That's what I used

did you ever convert back the school in England? you might need some naval research going soon! I always try to dismantle a couple of very poor craft workshops in a loyal province and rebuild it as a school so I have a school for each of military, industry and philosophy

Just a suggestion for you but there is a really good mod for napoleon which is called the Era Mod which has surprisingly good ai and chapters of the napoleonic wars to play and has some really nice visuals

I remember the advantages of the various shrines and temples I used to play Greek a lot and there was a temple which gave an experience bonus to ranged troops; the think the german ones help things like fertility both human and agriculture

This mod looks really good. I'm making a mod of my own and this mod is the closest to what I'm planning on making. Like, even unit sizes are quite similar to what I want. 240 men for line inf, 3 cannons per battery, etc... And the campaign features are mostly what I want as well lol. I might as well just copy and steal shit from this mod. Dev has been inactive since 2014 anyway so... 😏

The mod is pretty good! A nice mix of features and very enjoyable. Particularly like the unit skins and campaign restrictions. Makes it more interesting and adds a challenge.

played on medium settings for the first time until just after the scottish invasion until it finally crashed! I was losing a town/castle and gaining one elsewhere; I got a crash when using stainless steel mod too this week ; pity as I hadn't played Med 2 for a while! oh well I am doing Bannerlord as Serbia in Europe 1100 for a change!

Aw damn ;-; That's unfortunate. Such immense progress too. Well, if in doubt, and you've got the game on Steam, go into the library and verify the game files to ensure there's no corrupted files or settings. Might possibly eliminate crashes. Try reinstalling the mods too. I haven't have any Med 2 crashes yet this year.

The English routed your Forces at the Battle of London, because they had better trained troops, like the Guard Corps. Garrison is accurate, the capture of an Capital city has to be challenging and normaly in real history the english mostly invaded Scottland. The Scottish several times attempted to invade England, but were heavily crushed in the most attempts

Yes, I realized half way through editing why I wasn't able to do melee charges. I forgot that you must press "Alt" when right clicking the target to switch to a melee attack. I have been very used to Empire & Napoleon having separate melee commands on the UI.

I wonder if the Pirates attacked Jamaica or if it just joined them? The Mughal invasion fleet was a bit of a surprise!! btw recruiting infantry with long range muskets as well as long ranged artillery is a definite advantage in both getting the first volley and forcing the enemy to leave a defensive position! I am playing as Portugal and the mercenary Guerilla unit has range 150 & accuracy 72! not expensive either but 2 turns to recruit

Wow! Those guerrillas sound like monster troops. Particularly deadly against my 80 matchlock range. Good thing we're working towards upgrading to regular flintlock troops. On the topic of Jamaica, I'm interested in how that came to be as well

Hi some questions, i installed ETW 2 V4, my campaign starts at 1690 and those new regions are not in the game. What did I do wrong?

A number of the new regions had to be removed in order to promote game stability and playability. They were known to cause crashes and issues. V4.4 with rolling updates starts in 1690 and has been greatly streamlined. See my latest 4.4 Scotland Campaign for the differences

I notice that although religion has been replaced by culture the traditional historical alliances still exist ; France & Scotland etc ; I think Portugal must have been allied with England as they were a traditional ally ; what's next ? I usually build a fleet and take an army to conquer the Pirate strongholds if it's quiet in europe (the sugar plantations are lucrative!)

Yes, it does appear the old historical alliances are indeed being honoured! Which is quite fun to see. Adds a nice bit of immersion to the campaign. Greatly enjoying the challenge in this one! The pirate strongholds in the Caribbean are great to go for. I'll likely send my secondary Army to eliminate those

Brilliant. I would not play the others again. Personally I find DarthMod lacking in historical accuracy and overpowered AI aggressiveness cheat boosts. For a go big or go home mod, that would be the one. For NTW3, I find it really slow and agonizing at times. Sure, there's battles that historically dragged on for a while, and there's a lot that were quick and decisive affairs. The small size of artillery batteries in NTW3 is also a bit off-putting, making them seem a little useless compared to the flexibility and firepower of a battalion of infantry. Sure, NTW3 has a hell of a lot of neat historically accurate units and customizations, but if you prefer slower gameplay and small artillery, then that's the med to go with. I like this EIC mod because it does a great job of balancing all of those things, without being sluggish. Battles are well paced with the unit accuracy and artillery damage, good size batteries, effective cavalry that actually moves at their realistic speed, and a good amount of custom historical units.

the extra ports will mean more trade partners but you will probably get blockaded; I would consider temporarily demolishing the college in england to minimise revolts; also if you can build a small "religious school!, it encourages the locals to adopt your culture! btw I started a new Ottoman campaign yesterday & it appears the mod developers have added some new troop types including a "berserker" (sort of!)

It's in the launcher settings to set 40 unit armies. They are loaded through the launcher and then you have to start the campaign by going to saved games and selecting the 40 unit save
