Very excited for Victoria North. Regeneration of that part of the city centre was much needed, it used to be derelict. I think the City River Park project will please a lot of people as a lot of people complain that there isn't enough green space in Mcr city centre. Also, some more exciting news from Manchester this week as the council are expected to approve five more towers in Deansgate, one will be 71 storeys high meaning it will become Manchester's tallest building.

Thanks for the update. 🙂👍 Apparently it will be Europe's biggest regeneration and 20% of the population of Mcr. Keep your eye on these projects next week when decisions from Mcr Council Planning Department are due. With Viadux2 currently in stasis Renaker have picked up the ball and are running with it and hoping for a positive green light for their projects, five residential towers, including:- 1). A 70 storey tower in New Jackson. 2). Two 47 storey towers at The Green. 3). Two 51 storey towers. In addition a 3(?) storey office building. So should see how the skyline will develop. Be on standby. 👷🚧🤔

@@justmydrone Know the old Union Bank on London Road near Picc? Next week the Lamington Group find out if their plans to restore it and build a net green hotel of 34 storeys on the site gets approved. 👷🚧

Greengate dramatically changed. Trinity Chapel and Cook Street Brewery thankfully extant. Trust Salboy over Obsidian which seems 100%. What about One Heritage Tower, kiboshed? Big question is Middlewood Locks plans. Various schemes but seems left fallow.

There seems to have been many plans submitted which have been changed or come to to nothing! Will be interesting to see how it all unfolds over the next few years.

I used to live near Salford Cathedral 22 years ago when it was all run down and dilapidated. I just lived there because I worked in the city centre but moved away. Look at it now! 😂 Did they move out all the Salford riff-raff? Definitely some gentrification happened there.......

Thanks for the update including the shots of the Trinity Islands Towers. 🙂👍 Middlewood Locks is a well-placed district being so close to the St. John's, New Bailey and Spinningfield business districts. Working From Home is a huge game changer particularly for office building which is slumping, see House of Fraser (Kendals), Rylands etc. First plans including the Nook at Middlewood Locks included offices but revised plans didn't. Lots of building plans either stalled or stalling like Viadux2. Interest rates and objections? The steam certainly seems to have gone out of the Manchester bubble? Not popular just letting nature taking it's course and returning it to fields like originally, around Ordsall Hall, Hulme Hall + Garratt Hall nearby.

When did hear that Viadux 2 was stalling? I haven't heard anything about it since late April when Salboy lodged its plans.

@@footballfanar9717 Yes, Salboy lodged it's plans in April and was due a decision the following week. The plan was to do the legalities and be on site late year. English Heritage objected to the plans. Plan seems to have stalled. There were three elements 1). 76 storey tower 2). 23(?) storey tower of affordable homes. 3). Public realm enhancements. Probably without 1), 2) & 3) are uneconomic. Not holding my breath about any decision.

@@English_Dawn English heritage object to any plans that would help a city develop. If people have any sense, they won't listen to a word they say. It's a simple case of ignoring whatever they say.

Thanks for the update! Very clear. 🙂👌 HS2 would have transformed the area. Though offices are important Covid19/Working From Home changed the dial. Office building seems to have slumped, be it House of Fraser (Kendals), Rylands or as in your view Mayfield. One Cathedral Square even has a padel court planned at least temporarily!

Thanks for the update! Mcr needs a signature tower or two as most are much of a muchness to be honest. On Deansgate Fusion's Deansgate South student tower will be a little different in terracotta. Up at the other end of Deansgate at 1 Cathedral Square, also in terracotta to match the Cathedral and Chetham's with a raked design is also a little different. Trinity Islands and St. Michael's currently progressing. One of the largest excavations in Mcr ever is at St. Michael's (2) were foundations done for St. Michael's Tower with underground parking. Viaduct2 which could take the blue ribband for Mcr seems to be going through the legal stages. A planning decision was due, I understand, about 5 weeks ago, but an objection by English Heritage seems to have stalled things.

They are all similar looking glass structures.. impressive as they are. Hopefully, as you say, some variation of design will start to be built.

@Drone.vision because it was quite cloudy.. I added a 'colour pop' effect.. and a 'brown highlights' effect to the bits in the middle where I zoom in a bit.
