Right on man, i thought the desert looked familiar but im in Kingman. I like my FisherCZ3D for finding treasures & small paystreaks & putting into a bucket to pan at home rather than drywashing all day in a hit or miss spot. People in Kingman are in general lazy though to wanna go prospecting just wanting to get rich fast.

The fella who wrote the book on this stuff recommended the hottest part of the day mid to mid afternoon and also remember how cameras oick up red eye in pictures that youncant see with the naked eye , food for thought😏👍👀

You get used to the tones. Grunt sounds are usually iron. The sounds and numbers are different. Some folks say dig it all.

I did ground maintenance at an RV park in Yuma during high school. Snowbirds can be arrogant, hot tempered filthy pigs. Owner had to call the sheriff every few days.

The last trash area I was in turned out to be a battlefield of some sort. I found over 40 rounds of 45-70 and a ton of brass from the 1880s. I could see where at least 10 grunts were firing from.

One of my best gold finds was an area where groups of people have used it for years and years as a rifle range everywhere you look this brass shells best place to drive a metal detector nuts but for a person like me a couple of pants a couple of gallons of water and a shovel it's funny to think all those people all those years and they didn't even know what they were standing on congrats on the Nuggets Jack this time of year you got to get out there early and got to get back home have a great weekend

Impressive large hot rock. Of course, step 1 is to check if it is magnetic with your magnet. That would rule out magnatite.

Two things: Considering how shallow you drilled and the size of the small sample you extracted, I’m not seeing how lugging that contraption around was better than using a metal detector or even just a pinpointer. By all means, if I’m mistaken please correct me. Considering the desert area you were working in why not wear snake gaiters or even snake chaps? Rattlesnakes would blend in perfectly with the ground and I wouldn’t want to be bit out there alone in the middle of nowhere! I’m always surprised when I see desert gold prospectors not wearing snake gaiters or chaps.

The unit was just to test. Metal detectors do work but can’t find the fine stuff. I should wear my boots but I don’t. I walk softly and carry a big stick. Thanks.
