Thank you for sharing this... What are the maximum hours Interac allowed you to work?
@goldguilder955423 күн бұрын
Working online means there won’t be any visa requirements as the ALT will be working from his home country and not going to Japan. This also means a bachelor’s degree won’t be required and it would be up to the Eikawa school to set the standards themselves. If only a high school education is required the 200,000 JPY might be good enough since they won’t have to bust their ass working for McDonalds.
@goldguilder955423 күн бұрын
Many American ALTs can’t afford to work for such low pay especially with student loans needing to be repaid, hiring ALTs while working online while they work as a night security guard stateside and getting paid to be an online ALT over zoom would work since they would be getting paid from two employers at the same time.

While Japan is very cheap given the high quality and is a great place to spend dollars that can get you over 150 yen per dollar, wages in Japan can be much lower also than you can earn in US, Canada and Australia for example.

Hii do you need a laptop for teaching?
@shandavlog2 ай бұрын
I would say yes but you can survive without it. It does help but if you plan on working with schools that have a contract with Interac the school usually provides a device (laptop/tablet) that you can use at school to get your work done. If they don’t provide one you can ask Interac to ask the school to provide you with something to get your work done while at school.

Interac has not improved one bit since I left. I don't understand why people continue to work for them when they continuously penny pinch their employees. I remember convincing myself to stay after 2 years because I loved working at my placement and my schools were amazing.. But one day I realized i had less than 300 USD in my bank account for a month after all the deductions and proration during the summer and decided that's enough.

I’ve noticed since living in Japan and having both Japan Amazon and American Amazon, some of the products on the Japan Amazon are way more expensive than the American American Amazon, so what I would do for living in Japan and decorating my house is I would just order from American Amazon. I couldn’t believe how much pricing differences could be for the same product. I would also order from Walmart and target online and just have it delivered to my house In Japan.
