The horses seem to have more sense than their riders.

I wonder how drunk some of the course designers are when thinking about some of these concepts. I swear, eventing has become so dangerous and out of control over the past decade.

I will always say cross country is one of the hardest jumping events because of how dangerous it is. All the jumps are solid but these are great horses with great riders. The course designers really needed to think this out before putting riders through it. There’s a difference between making it difficult and making it ten times as dangerous. Feels almost like their waiting for horses and riders to fail to get more amusement rather then challenge them technically.

I like cross country but this here is animal abuse. Horrible course design and the owners faults for willingly signing their innocent horses up for this. The horses try so hard and yet they still can’t make it and end up falling and potentially breaking a leg.

You know, I actually think cross country is far more dangerous than flat racing.

Horses are tired, overwhelmed, over worked, have to keep their head tight in jumping with the tight reins and tie-downs and people call this a failure. Seem a lot where the horse's body SHOWS fatigue in their gate and tripping obviously outlines the wear and tear. They are forced, pressured and trained but clearly, it's no bueno no matter they can do it or not be it in their papers, the breeding etc. The are Indvidual's and sweat and bleed and are emotional-more so than us because they are one, an entirely different entity and for the sake of their species they are PREY animals. Being pressured and having no choice but to survive because we trained/conditioned them to do what is not normal and natural in the world to be consistently jumping over obstacles on a day-to day biases is abnormal no matter how humans try to paint a pretty picture of it in high expectations, selfishness, money and titles. We are the failure. Superficial, shallow and egotistical, which these animals DO NOT house in their biological imperative selves nor in their ancestorial bloodline and evolution. Horses do the majority of the work while the rider holds on and directs as they have been schooled so when the horse gets hurt then so does their passenger. Bad things will always happen in events like this, so prepare to get hurt when in equine discipline activities.

When an industry becomes competitive with itself at the cost of the riders, or these incredible animals, who have more heart than anyone can imagine, they don’t only put the industry at risk, but they themselves are heartless, idiots and don’t deserve to be part of what what wants a noble sport.

0:36 I am absolutely appalled. Whoever designed this course needs to be paying all of these vet bills. That is not a jump that ANY horse could get over. 100% the designers fault. The horse and the rider had done everything correctly and the injuries sustained were unavoidable and I hope that both the rider and the horse are okay. The rider going immediately back to check on their horse was the only good part of this clip.

This is straight up abuse... I don't get it?! These are super dangerous jumps and both rider and horse can be killed or injured. What great horses just standing and not freaking out after falling and such. I wonder what kind of rider does this course knowing how badly injured you or your horse could get? Or worse ☠️ must be for clout or money. This is plain stupid. Poor horses. The video shows horses limping after a fail. Ugh Disgusting

0:35 sitting behind the movement caused this accident wich must have been very painful for the horse. Most of the accidents in this video were caused by very bad riding skills. Horrifying to watch.. Until there's no quality management about the skills of the riders, this "sport" at the expense of the horses needs to be forbidden, it's irresponsible to expose horses to such danger only for personal success.

if you slow the playback speed down at 2:56 or so, you can see that the horses legs never actually catch the rail. it falls because the ground it had to land on was too sloped to get its front legs under itself. shame on these course designers, it’s a miracle no person or horse was seriously injured or worse.

That they don't even stop when they see how many horses fall down. It could have ended really badly with all those horses. I find it unbelievable and makes me really angry. and every time a horse falls there is just a “wow”

When do you pull your head out of your ass and realize whoever designed this course doesn’t know what the hell they are doing? How many horses and riders have to get hurt or killed before you put a stop to it! What is even more unbelievable is that people willingly and intentionally put their horses through this ! Shame on you! I would think you would care more about your animals than that!

I agree with many of the comments. The ergonomics of the coarse is bad for the horses. They love jumping but they are making them too high. too close. the horse can't focus on a jump that has 2 different heights on each side and a big red distracting flower. It's wrong to force it. The landing on some is at the wrong angle. No wonder they trip forward. Who wouldn't. They love to run and jump but don't injure them . They aren't like people and cant understand that beyond your limits is the goal. They are horses with skinny ankles and limited front vision.
