Anos después el gran púgil mexicano Salvador Sánchez atropelló , desbarató a este puertorriqueño y lo retiró del boxeo por bocón , Wilfredo Gómez salió directo al hospital y no volvió al ring , por bocón y hablador !!!

Vinny was fun to watch. I was at his last fight against Tucker Pudwill. Exciting to watch but really couldn't break an egg when it came to power.

Cooney's biggest weakness was the two guys that mismanaged him. Those guys were looking for quick money off someone else's sweat. And so boxing goes.

He had ALL the skills he could box both inside and out he could punch , he could move. There are few boxers with his skills. His was rare.

Had high hopes for Page but losing to Berbick was the start of his downfall. Losing to a 37 year old Joe Bugner was the nail in the coffin for me

The scorecards after 14 rounds, according to The Washington Post: Referee Magana Ansorena 138-133 Judge Nicasio Lorenzo Drake of Panam: 137-134 Judge Cesar Ramos of Pureto Rico:136-133 So Tate could even have afforded a knockdown and lost the 15th round 10-8, and still won a unanimous decision.

Crazy how Cuevas, an outstanding young champion, with a pile of KO title defenses, was never the same after an up and coming Tommy Hearns completely inihalated him. He was basically a shot fighter by his mid 20's.

At 1:29:34 "Trevor Berbeck will have to fight somebody, who knows who that might be." Really Barry!? As a boxing expert, you had no idea about the upcoming hurricane that would dominate boxing!? That "somebody" was Mike Tyson and nothing was ever the same again!!!

Pops Johnson was a one-sided atomic bomber, while Michael Spinks was a boxing version of a "junkyard pitcher", who could change styles as an opponent's own style demanded it. The right cross to the body took a lot out of Marvin before Mike threw the one punch KO left hook. Win or lose, great performances by both boxers.

I met Terrible Terry at Plaza Bonita Mall located in National City, CA in 1994. He was very personable. He was more than happy to provide me with an autograph and handshake.

That right hand that ended the fight was absolute perfection. Look at where he delivers that punch from…it was soooo short Marcotte never saw it. Early in his career people thought Leonard was all flash, but man did he have a nasty streak. He was there to entertain the crowd, but if he got you hurt, that killer instinct kicked in and it was ALWAYS over. One of the best finishers ever.

After Sugar Ray knocked Hearns through the ropes, what succeeded that was 3.5 of the most frantic boxing I've ever seen. Hearns, completely punchdrunk, landed a minimum of five "on the button" punches that should have stopped Leonard in his tracks. But Leonard was like an animal who was absorbing shot gun pellets to get to his prey. He would have chased him around perdition's flame if he had to

I got curious-this guy Heair didnt look like a slouch. Pretty tough and skilled-not polished like Duran, but Duran is like the exception to the rule-he actually fought til he was 53...anyways, Heair was undefeated for 33 fights and lost a decision to Ranzany a few fights back. His last fight was against a guy making his debut...nontheless his record coming into this fight was Only 54-3!
