Tele-snaps is a technical to take "screen shorts" before that was a thing. It is like using a smartphone to take pictures of your monitor. I can't remember his name but this was done by one individual. We are lucky he did this since otherwise we would be missing more episodes.

I wished they would’ve showed more on how the meridian works in the human body and how water heals the body. I Just love how spiritual this show is. We are near the end of Book 1 and in Book 2 we’ll see more spiritualisms.

Liked a lot about this special and Moffat's story really had me locked in and enjoying the ride, until the last bit. It went from enjoyable to corny fast and at least for me the religious angle at the end felt unnecessary and forced. I didn't hate this special though, and I hope we see Anita again sometime :)

Frederick Jaeger , not sure of the spelling, who plays Jano, is so good! I believe he studied Hartnell's mannerisms and speech while they worked together, I'm sure I've seen an image of him clutching his 'lapels' or maybe I'm just picturing it in my head because he is so spot on!

This ain't no longer doctor who i remember the good old days when it was about monsters, aliens and saving the earth rather than sexuality, gender issues, love lives, pronoun bullshit and wokeness.

noooo, it's a different metre, a different style and certainly much faster and much faster edits, yes it loses the pathos, but that audience doesn't get that or want it, it is it's own show in it's own right and again, brilliantly written and the actors are great at their characters. totally love it. if pushed obviously this is better, but i'm so looking forward to all the other nations versions because the concept and the writing and acting is the thing. :D

I am enjoying your reactions to Ghosts, it's really nicely acted - on the surface fairly easy stories - but there are moments of genuine emotion and it's become essential viewing for me.

My joint Favs are The Captain and Lady Button. Its really saying about me, why I like the stuffy repressed Captain and the stuffy repressed Fanny. I've had some real Lady Button hissy fits in my time, and Im about as comfortable with my sexuality as The Captain is haha I got diagnosed Autistic and ADHD this year so at least now I understand why Ive felt like a Sitcom character all my life!

I feel your hatred for that woman. Immediately unlikable. But the one thing about this episode that stood out to me in particular is when they’re all making fun of the captain. And it’s so interesting that despite his many flaws and weird opinions Julian of all people is the only one who doesn’t join in with the mockery. So kudos to him.

I take it youve not seen Blade Runner lol the falling through the glass is an iconic part of it. Never mind, things are back to 'normal' after this, some really good classic feeling episodes and an audience laughter track! I hate it when shows chnage their laughter track format, its a totally underrated element of a show, if its used. Thats why I tend to not like film versions of tv comedy shows, I miss the laughter. Its part of it.

They always kill everyone off at the end . The first series had a great cast and was interesting . This one was a different level , pretty much every episode was comedy gold . Hugh Lawrie made a great , almost panto villain with Stephen Fry being the cowardly Melchip . So glad you you are reacting to it .

not last season, but Lee Cornes turns up at least once in just about every show from this era. (He was Lister's Paranoia on Red Dwarf, for instance).

Why did the Silurian manager with the attache case go to Joy's room and therefore involve her ? The case was supposedly upgrading its hosts until it found someone who knew the Time hotel layout and could therefore give it access to an old enough room ie one 65 million years in the past. The manager would have had that knowledge and access to that room. So why instead of immediately going to that room does it direct him to a much more recent occupied room (Joy's room) ? Why would the arms manufacturer Villengard create the "Star of Bethelehem" or is its creation for some villainous purpose totally unconnected with Jesus ? In other words is this episode celebrating Christ's birth or is it dumping on the Nativity by suggesting that the "Star of Bethlehem's" appearance at the time of Jesus birth, as recorded in the Christian bible, was an irrelevant co-incidence or worse yet Christ's birth was somehow part of some evil corporation's plans ?

I think you're overthinking the Christmas reference in your second paragraph here. My reading of the show is that the disruptions introduced by the Doctor, or the stored people who were in the device meant that they had taken control of it now, so that it was no longer following the original programming. And the idea of Joy and that device making the star of Bethlehem was meant to recreate a Christmas card image with a sci-fantasy background that is meant to be a symbol of hope.

I really enjoyed this special <3 . has the whole "data ghost' trope been reused too many times. Yes. Yes it has. Was it still interesting, light, fun and involve a lot of timey-wimey, a good-ol bootstrap paradox and a hobbit door. Hell yeah it did. I see a a lot of atheists get angry at the ending, but as an atheist myself, I think the ending was quite nice, it works for both atheists and religious people as you can see it as a science "explanation" or a religious "confirmation". Up to the viewer.

A Christmas special is usually a one off . Written by Stephen Moffat I liked it , true you could have made a series out of the idea but it was one of the better ones . Biggest criticism is they used a lot of Joy in the trailers and there wasn't enough I hadn't seen . Nice ending , it certainly wasn't the worst Ncuti for me .

I'm guessing you aren't familiar with Blade runner , a classic sci-fi which was so innovative and influential to my generation , including Rob and Doug apparently . I've grown fonder of Back to Earth , Coronation street with Steve MacDonald and Tina making cameos and the ending with the despair squid does make sense . It was originally intended as an anniversary tribute to Red Dwarf on a Dave budget . They managed to turn it into a story and It showed the cast still had it , and the fans still wanted more . The Dave series that followed , despite the years , are in my opinion back to peak Red Dwarf .
