I remember meeting Abdiel in the summer of 2003. I was on a trip to Bethshean with First Christian Church of Jonesboro, GA. He and I rode from the jobsite we were working on back to the camp to get some supplies. It was a bit awkward because he didn’t speak very much English at the time, and I didn’t speak much Spanish at all. After a few failed attempts to start a conversation, he noticed my hat and asked, “You like baseball?” I said yes, I did very much. Then he smiled and asked, “Los Bravos de Atlanta?,” and we became friends in that moment. 😊

I just want to say for anyone that watches this restream of today’s service…I don’t know who was in charge in the streaming room! 😏 I CAN say that Apple’s latest update added some interesting graphics in the middle of the service. It was definitely NOT the fault of whoever was back there running the stream. 🤷🏼‍♀️ There were a few oopsies when it came to camera transitions that could be attributed to that person but they may have been a little discombobulated by the graphics popping in which is totally understandable!! 🙃🤪 Just wanted to make that clear. Hope you enjoy the message and don’t get too distracted by the fireworks. (Yes, there are fireworks included.)

Today's Prayer: Lord, I am weak. Without You, Lord, I have no strength at all to continue. I confess my desire to run from my problems and to just give up, Lord, and if I didn’t have You to lean on, that’s exactly what I’d do. Please make me strong-in body and especially in mind. Fear threatens to overwhelm me and send me into depression. As I see all the scary things happening all around the world, Lord, it’s easy for me to feel total despair.
