You can use EI core transformers also . If you are worried about the magnetic field interference then you can shield the transformers with a metal sheet

When solving problems I always resorted to the literature (where I learned about multiplier factor capacitors). I've been reading the Audio Power Amplifier Design Handbook by Douglas Self.

I do have 4 of these boards left (empty pcb)… But I would really recommend you to get the gerber files of the new design … since this design is having one silk screen and one pitch related flaw.

(..In general for any amp . & not referring to this one..) but a circuit ..that mutes the audio before full power is applied( i.e.before filter caps.are charged up fully)..and also when power fails or is sw. off. both are time & voltage dependent/detect...and.. 1) operates a relay to break speaker outputs.. 2)mute enables/disables the audio at 1 or 2 or 3 audio gain input stages in the amp. chain.

@@analoghardwaretops3976 There is a delay circuit already in the lm3886 board … but it doesn’t act as a soft start for the capacitors… What you are suggesting here is a mix of many different protection circuits. 1. I’m not bothered about the inrush for capacitors . 2. It wont produce a pop sound at the starting because of the inbuilt delay circuit of lm3886 3. Lm3886 comes with a huge list of protection features and thats why Im not going to design any speaker protection circuit or a current limit circuit,

You have to order the pcbs from robu or lion circuits. In the website of circuit basics you will have the pcb design … which you can copy paste in easy eda software then generate the gerber file and order pcbs.

Capacitance directly at the output of an amplifier can cause time delays between the input and output pins. These time delays are called phase shifts between the output and feedback nodes, which can result in oscillations at the output of the amplifier. That is why Miller capacitor in an amplifier can somewhat reduce these phase shifts.

Yes yes I used mica sheets for isolating the tab of the ic and plastic washer for isolating the screw from the tab. My hearing ability is till 18khz … so I could hear it till that point 🫢.

Even though the energy stored in the capacitor depends on voltage, the resonant frequency is a function of L and C alone. Therefore, changing the applied voltage in a parallel LC circuit does not change the resonant frequency. You can go ahead and test it … you will get same frequency even if you change the supply voltage

Any amplifier will perform the same way for this kind of sweep test. What is more important about LM3886 is it's THD+N performance and this couldn't be done via this setup. However, using you computer AUX input with some attenuation and proper software, you can easily manage to do this kind of tests. Spekaer output will pump in the required sweep with clean waveforms. A decent Sound card might even add some icing on the cake. But definitely a proper reponse test you tried to explain not like others who invariably show woofer cone movements. That's kind of rubbish. Waiting to see more videos like this.

Yes Brother … even I wanted to test the distortion performance of the amplifier . And the easiest way to test THD is to send a signal with a pilot signal induced in it , so that we can check and compare the harmonics in FFT mode of the scope . But my scope doesn’t have FFT in it 😞. But Yeah I really need to figure out something to test the THD in a cheap and easy way .

@@Roys_Desk You cant have proper result unless you sample the signal with higher resolutions. Normal scopes or even standalone scopes are only 8 bits so can't get the right result. better way is to use sound card. Search THD measurement with sound card borgmann

from where did you sourced C3 3.3 uF input coupling cap. and should we use bipolar electrolytic cap (C4) instead of regular cap. Can we use COG SMD 47 pF ceramic cap instead of thru hole cap?

1. The WIMA caps (C3) I recently sourced from local market SP ROAD in Bangalore 2. Yes bipolar caps can be used in C4 3. Yes COG caps would be a great choice . Best would be Silver Mica (but its pretty costly).

Everything is fine except those 100nf supply decoupling caps, if possible use 1-2.2uf mkt film per rail. The big blue ceramic is also not good(if used for coupling, low pass or in feedback network), use NPO/COG or at least X7R type. Otherwise everything is fine. I expect you'll take this observation in a good way. Good luck

Hey Brother … Thank you for the points . That big blue capacitor is actually one NPO type capacitor of 47pF value ….But best is Silver Mica for pF ranges since they have excellent stability throughout the audio frequency range.

Thank you so much ☺️ 1. Im having zobel network in my PCB . I think you mean Thiele Network. If you are asking about Thiele Network then I have not included that inside the PCB but I have it connected as an external component. If you see during sound test I have that coil connected between the output and the woofer. 2.Thiele Network is a must component for LM3886 …. Or else it would sound very unstable and uneasy under various scenarios.

I think this coil was 20AWG …. But For THIELE NETWORK best suited would be 18SWG . Anything in the range of 1mm to 1.2mm

This is a different topic in itself . But induction coil and the cookware behaves like a loosely coupled transformer(secondary sorted )… so more current means more power and this more current is handled by a Pulse Jo ki IGBT ko input kiya jaata h . This pulse duration is monitored by the microcontroller depending on the current requirements. Ye complicated circuit hota h and bohot kuch monitor karna padhta h .

Hey Guys !!! Seems like I made a mistake in putting the B cursor for Time Period measurements of first three Inductors . I had to place the B cursor exactly at the point where the negative waveform touches zero line . The last measurement (0.2uH) is proper 1Time period and thats the proper placement of A and B cursors.

It seems that for a sine wave the first cursor at zero and the second cursor at zero, one wave length away or peak to peak is needed. You seem to have used a period and a half.

nice, but as far as I can see (9:30) you're measuring 1,25 T, not 1T with your cursors ...so the real frequency of the ringing is about 1,25 higher

True … even I noticed now … I measured the Time period higher (should be around 720nS)…. Which means frequency is supposed to be higher than 1.28Mhz and technically the value wont drift too much than the calculated value even with the new frequency.
