I tried that and it didn't work. Every time I try to tune the A string the gear makes a snapping sound and the string always goes back to low

They're both good pickups. The Seth Lover isn't potted (not sure about Lollar imperials) so cranking the gain can be a problem

So you’re gonna give me a video on how to do this. But you’re not gonna tell me what your secret solution is so therefore this video is useless in my opinion.

Electric guitar player here. I made the mistake of telling a friend that I would put new strings on his acoustic guitar. Pins popping like a game of whack a mole! These bridges are a shockingly bad design that I'm amazed has not been changed to some better method over the years. Wow! I guess all the innovation went to the electric guitar side of things?

Nice way how to apply it but sorry - petroleum jelly is actually not good because it will collect a lot of dust/dirt over time - you should do this with an oil intended for mechanical joints, in every bike shop you can buy it for a few bucks. The consistency of that oil is a complete opposite of petroleum jelly(very smooth liquid oil). Cheers

Seth Lovers over Lollers, easily. Tone, over dry and brittle.

Going to throw a set of Lovers in an Epi 335 project . Very versatile pickups, (As are the Imperials). Low winding and Alnico II is usually good for clarity and note separation.

Sue is also a former Strat player; she played one when The bangles appeared on Letterman in '84. SOOOooo . . . Her 350SH has a Strat-style 5-way switch on the lower pickguard, and is fitted with HB-1 Humbuckers. Actually, both her present-day Ricks have all HB-1's on them.

Total waste of time: different pickups on different guitars tells us nothing. Too many variables for a meaningful comparison.

It's so great to see two accompanists, who know how to practice restraint, in order to complement the featured performer. Their excellence still shines through even more in my opinion.

My strings slip out of tune easily it seems - should I tighten the black screws a notch or two? It’s an old Alhambra.

An idea I got from Frank Ford or someone, was mixing Petrojelly with powdered graphite. You want to make sure you don't leave any of the stuff protruding from the gears that might get on your hands or clothes. Wipe away the excess. Sometimes I use that mixture, and sometimes I use just the Petrojelly. Both work well. 3 n1 oil runs, and should be used only in cases of emergency, and applied with care. If you over apply, you'll have oil dripping on the floor or the carpet. I'll stick with the Ford mixture, or just Petrojelly. Thanks for the tip.

Lollars all the way for me. I'm surprised. I found the SL's dull and indistinct. I think even the old Duncan 59's that I put in my 67 Gibson SG sound better than these Seth Lovers did in this particular video.

Actually, that is the other part of the Hammond Sound that is NOT the Leslie. The Scanner does something with capacitance and it spins through it. IDK, but you have to keep it oiled. 😸

TBH I like the sound of Rickenbacker's single coil "toaster" pickups better. Most people don't buy a Ric to get humbucker sound; we want the jangle. I do have to admit this is the best-looking of all their guitars. But I'd want it with 3 toaster pickups instead.
