If you’re employed in the UK & you do backdoor Roth in the US. I know that you pay Income Tax in the US on that backdoor conversion but will you also have to pay tax in the UK? Thx

Perhaps the French penchant for universal healthcare is that they logically deducted long ago that the invisible hand of market capitalism needs price transparency and tort control, and that health services don't lend themselves well to that and therefore needs to be provided under bureaucratic control. Seems like there are a bunch of countries around the world doing this very successfully without thinking about it as "socialistic" and all the negative connotations associated with that.

Very useful and frankly if one has significant US IRAs that one wishes to ensure pass to the next generation, France will confiscate your assets. So unfortunately we just got a reason to not stay long term. We’ll just enjoy while we are here.

It is stunning how uncompetitive and unfair this is. Everything I have was generated through 40 years of work and savings. There is no chance France will get its hands on it. I know one can’t live their life based on taxes but this is my kids’ lives. Au revoir France, this is bullshit.

So, if I understand correctly, it is possible to live in France full time and have a company in the US? I am French living in the US for 35 years, my husband is American. We both have social security, also my husband has a trading company. So, would it be possible to purchase a property and live in France full time, and for him to trade on US platforms? I guess in this situation, we would pay US taxes only?

Bonjour! Excellent video. Very informative. Thank you! We are retired American educators with modest social security and pension payments (45k), and very modest rental income(16k). We had been looking at Spain, France, and Italy because of their healthcare systems. But, Spain and Italy would tax us more than France, and France has better healthcare. Is my perception correct? 60k per year is taxed less in France than in Spain, correct? Thank you. Merci! Dean & Cindy

The audio on that lady sitting in the white room is so hard to understand. It’s digitizing and then the reverb. I had to scroll forward through it. Seems like good info, pity only about 2/3 of it was intelligible.

This is a pretty unhelpful video and it looks like there are very few follow up answers to many people’s good questions. The production level of the video is poor too. To be honest I feel like this reflects poorly on your company but thanks.

Just making it more and more complicated like the US medical system, would eventually lead to a rebellion and revolt. See why Trump is becoming popular is proof.

Unless you can take alipay or wechat pay or credit card from China, I don't know how to pay for the US tax filers. My brother and sisters say they help, but when it comes to action, they won't even let me use their credit cards for this purpose, and reimburse them later with my bank transfers from HK...many more examples...

Are us govt pensions, such as U.S. federal govt and military retirement, VA disability compensation for disabled veterans, social security? Between military retirement and VA disability, I bring in just over $100K/yr…when my wife retires from her federal career, she will receive over $50k/yr; then she will likely receive the max Soc sec retirement and I’ll be close behind.

Luv yr Shows! USA stole my kids to give them to abusive Mormon and holding me hostage 4 years now but I keep pleading to go back to France! What Visa should I apply for to stay here? 1 year visitor visa? (I plan is to buy a home in Cannes which I spent 2 years in awaiting extradition to evil US). So tired of abuse and injustice of AMerica! So stupid to accept extradition - should have stayed in France. PS what insurance do u recommend to buy to attach to visa application? Who to consult for Real Estate Shopping (prefer someone with experience w Credit Vendeur at 50% down) to prevent Luxury Tax . a bientôt si le juge me laisse enfin quitter les USA!

I would like to know what PROHIBITS France from taxing US expats who reside in France on their US Rental income? ARTICLE 6 Income from Real Property Paragraph 1 provides that income of a resident of a Contracting State from real property situated in the other Contracting State may be taxed in the State in which the property is situated. The Article does not grant an exclusive taxing right to the situs State, but assigns it the primary right.

Do you have an equivalent of SELLER FINANCING in USA where the seller takes a down payment (EG 25%), and then you make payments to the seller for a few years before refinancing it is very common in America and is called seller financing were the buyer gets the deed to the property, but it is subject to repayment of the mortgage to Seller. Do you have anything like that in France?
